I am SO excited, I have to share. My sister in law (my brother's wife) has a brother in NY who is a phenominal costume designer. His first Broadway play was Xanadu, he has designed costumes for Tale of Two Cities on Broadway, for the San Francisco Opera and many more. The huge news is that a few days ago the Tony Award's nominations came out and David has been nominated for best costume design for his work on "In the Next Room, or the vibrator play". He just finished a photo shoot for Vanity Fair Magazine, so exciting. My sister in law is going to the Tony's next month.
A few of his amazing costumes:
Congrats to David Zinn, so cool!
Wow!! That's terrific. I hope he wins.
That's great!! Good luck David, I hope you get the recognition you deserve.
That dress is amazing. I always thought theatre clothing was less well-made because of the temporary nature. I guess I was thinking tearaway. I can see why he was nominated, and he has some great credits, as well. In short, he's a shoe-in....says the woman who has never been to a "real" play.

Be sure and let your sister know there are additional crossed fingers on the forum.

How exciting! That's really cool.
So cool! David attended the Tony Nominees luncheon at the Plaza today. He was seated with Jessica Hecht, Viola Davis, Denzel Washington, Chris Seiber and the Weisslers (famous Broadway producers). What an experience that must have been

.
He had a photo shoot with Vanity Fair, can't wait to see it! We're having a family Tony's party to watch the Awards, and see David and my sister in law on tv, woo hoo!
Jan, you should see all of his creations, OMG. Nothing cheesy about how they are made!
