Hi all, I am hoping for some advice here. My cousin has a litter of 4 kittens that have been healthy and active up until 8 weeks of age. It started with one throwing up some and having diarrhea, and now 3 of them have these symptoms. They are staying over night at the vet clinic, all fecal tests and blood work has come back normal. They are UTD on everything and eat RC Kitten food. The vet thinks it may be something genetic since tests are showing nothing. If anyone has any ideas for the vet to further test for or look into, it would be greatly appreciated. We are at a loss for ideas as to what is causing this. Thanks in advance.
Often parasites and infections will not show other than by these kinds of symptoms. A course of Flagyl would be the first thing to try. (I know of no genetic condition that shows itself in these symptoms, which are fairly common symptoms in young kittens, whose GI tract can be more delicate.) You can also use Bene Bac or a similar product to make sure there is adequate good bacteria.
I hope the little ones are feeling better soon. What a scare to have them fall sick like that! I don't have any advice just lots of well wishes

The kittens are on a probiotic. I will let her know to talk to the vet about some of the suggestions here. Thanks for the help.
Best of luck to those kittys.
I hope the kitties will be back to normal soon. Poor little babies.
