How crazy is this.. after our hummingbird's nest was destroyed I've now discovered that a pair of House Finches have built a nest in my hanging fuchsia. I had seen them in there but thought they were nibbling on the plant, I'd find bits of it on the balcony. Here are a few pics, they have since added some Mocha fur Smile.

That is fantastic... It will be so exciting to hopefully see the egg hatch one day =]
Oh that's so exciting! I love that they have added Mocha fur! How cute!
Yay finches are so cute! Mocha is so generous letting all the little birdies have his fur Wink
That is so wonderful! I am sure the finches will be thanking Mocha as wellSmile
How cool!!!! Good for Mocha giving up his fur for a good cause!
Front row seat couldn't ask for much more then that.
Beautiful pictures Kitty.
Do you no how long before a baby?
That's great! I hope you get up to date shots of the progress.
I wish you were here in our yard with your camera. We've had a redheaded woodpecker the last couple of days.
I had a nice surprise today when I discovered another egg had appeared.

Here is some info that I found online:
Eggs are laid from February through August, two or more broods per year with 2 to 6 eggs per brood. The eggs are a pale, bluish-green with few black spots and a smooth, somewhat glossy surface. The female incubates the eggs for 12 to 14 days, while the male brings her food.

The female broods the young for the first few days after they hatch, and the male continues to bring food. The female then joins the male in bringing food to the young. The young leave the nest after 12 to 15 days and may be fed by the male for about two more weeks, while the female starts a second clutch. Pairs may raise three or more broods each season.
