Please send some good wishes Smoke's way. I got up this morning and he's walking on just three legs holding one foot up. I can see the back of the foot has blood on it, but he won't let me touch the foot so we're off to the vet in a minute. Hope everything is else is ok on him and it wasn't a bad fight he was in or something and the foot will be ok too.
i really hope smoke is okay and it wasnt serious.
please keep us updated.
xx
Awww Teresa I know you must be so upset.
I'm sending lots of well wishes for Smoke.
Hopefully the vet can fix him up and send him home with you.
I wounder if he got his foot stuck some wear and that is why it is tore up.
Like D said keep us posted Teresa.
His foot is swollen very sore and so the vet can't thoroughly check it out because Smoke won't let him touch it much. So....they are keeping him and sedating him. He's not sure if it is a new injury and just very swollen, or if it is an older one only now showing up as an abcess (I'm pretty sure it's a new one or I would have noticed something before). If it is abcessed then they are going to have to put a drain tube in it and I would preferably have to keep him inside! YIKES! I just lent out the big dog crate that I used for the KFC mama cat so I may have to get it back. I'm waiting to hear back when I can pick him up and what they've had to do to it.
Poor Smoke, it's terrible weather here with high winds, rain, tornado watch, lightning and thunder and he HATES storms. So....he pooped in his carrier on the way to the vet. First time that has ever happened to me with any of my cats. Closed in a car with cat poop and unable to open windows because of the pouring rain, it was not a pleasant ride for either of us. Thankfully he's a firm pooper (I know, too much info), so I was able to clean out his carrier quickly when we got to the vets. Oh, but I also made a BIG mistake of putting his carrier on a chair -- didn't seem to be unstable, and when I went to throw away the stuff from his carrier, he somehow tipped it over and it fell to the floor!!! Poor boy - it just has not been a good day for him. He wasn't hurt in the fall thankfully!
Oh gosh...you sure are having a stressful few days...hopefully you get your guy back and he will be feeling better.
T know prayers are being said on Smoke's behalf. We understand as Sebby had broken his leg and no one but me could touch him.
If there is anything we can do let us know. Prayers are sent to you too as sometimes being a cat or dog momma can be a hard thing but so worth it in the end.
Better go.
Poor Smoke, I hope he's ok and heals quickly. Tell him he's having a visitor next week and if he's good I'll bring him some treats.
As for tornado watching, I'm not coming to watch tornados!!
Poor Smokey Boy, I hope that the vet will be able to treat him and get him home! When Bonkers had an abscess, the swelling came on very suddenly. It was pretty bad, he had a high fever. He came out of it pretty quickly though with antibiotics and a drain in the wound.
Sending hugs and prayers,
Kitty
Poor Smoke! I'll be praying for him, keep us updated T. Best wishes.
Poor Smoke is having a rough time of it. I hope he is O.K.!
