Jo, I'm so sorry to read that Lance has been so poorly but relieved to see that he is back home and feeling better. One thing that sparked my brain was you mentioned mouth ulcers under his tongue. Mouth ulcers are a sign of calicivirus so it may still be a good idea to have a swab taken to see if this is the cause. Over here in the UK they swab the throat and it is relatively easy I believe. If it is calici then it would be a case of treating the symptons each time they arrive, usually in response to stress. Hopefully it was just a one off viral infection that will go as quickly as it came, never to be seen again.
Oh no! Sad This is terrible news. Just when we all thought he was back to his old self. I'll certainly be praying for his fast recovery.
Oh, I just saw the first of the post and didn't see the good part where you got to bring him home. Wink
Prayer does work! Thank goodness Lancelot is a big strong boy.
I am so happy Lancelot is back home and much improved. It's been such a worrying time for you.
Thank you kindly everyone, it has been such a rollercoaster week! Jane I may just take your suggestion and get him tested when he goes for a checkup. We won't be going to that particular vet after this!
