My little Charlie is a blue bi colour, this is what the breeder told me when I was picking a kitten and also from the pics I think he defo looks like one. However, she has now said that it looks like he may also be developing patches of lilac (his Mum is lilac). Which I'm estatic about as I think its a beautfil colour in Raggies.
However, my question is, is it possible for him to be a blue bi with patches of lilac? Sorry if this is a really silly question but I am relitavely new to all the ins and outs of Raggies, I've admired them for years but only since deciding on getting one have I started reading up on the colourings of them.
Genetically it's not possible.
Not possible. He cannot be both blue and lilac. She may mean that he now seems lilac. You can get him DNA tested to see if he is homozygous for brown (chocolate) if you care. Chocolate and lilac have been misidentified in Ragdolls and the new DNA test now resolves those issues.
Ok, so does that mean he is either a blue bi colour or a lilac bi colour? If there is such a thing as lilac bi colour??

Yes, lilac refers to the color of the kitten. Bicolor refers to it's pattern (inverted V on face.) Bicolors can be any color (blue, seal, flame, tortie, lilac, chocolate, etc.)

Ah I see! Thank you for that explanation, I get it now! LOL! Sorry to seem stupid with my questions, its just I really don't know much about Raggies as a breed. I obv. know the important parts, their personality, how best to care for them etc etc but when it came to picking a colour (as I do not intend to show or breed him) i just went for the cutest one!!!!

Yep its a one or the other thing, if he was a lilac bi-colour you would probably see no colour on his face at all if he is still with his breeder as it takes a long time to come in on the face and the V cuts off the nose where you see the colour first if that makes sense
Cloe on the forum her Jasper is a lilac bi-color and he is just a gorgouse boy.
