What grooming products do you use for show baths? I ordered a few, but ya know.. I want a really good comprehensive list.
I'd be interested to see what everyone says too!! Johnson's baby shampoo has been suggested to us. Whats with talcum powder?
I was suggested by numerous people to wash them with just dishwashing liquid and to do it a few nights before so the coat still breaks (as that's part of the standard). If you do it just the night before they tend to be too fluffy and that's not always desirable.
"Dawn" dishwashing detergent removes all the oils then do two mild vinegar rinses. Just dip the cat into the rinse water and wait until the fur separates and floats..................

That would be a pretty diluted mix of vinegar and water I imagine? Don't want the kitty smelling like salad dressing, lol.
For our showbath we use:

Pre bath Prep is Groomer's goop for the greasy areas and studtail.

Shampoo: a Mixture of Dawn and F1R2 show shampoo

Conditioner: Equiss microtek coat rebuilder or Equiss Premier conditioner.

Final rinse with diluted vinegar.

I've been told to use either Goop OR some other strong degreaser Smile

F1R2?? What's that?

I was told that its best to bath them like 2 days before the show.. true or false?

Thanks.
Here is a link to the Shampoo. http://f1r2labs.com/hypoallergenicshowcoatshampoo.aspx

We have used regular Goop before but prefer the groomers goop.

I do believe it is better to bathe several days before the show but most of the time we are bathing at the last minute.
I just use parmolive dishwashing liquid a few days before a show
