I think we might try again later in the year when it is cooler and at a better venue. We thought with it being at a popular showground that there would be proper facilities, apparently not! He did very well. He didn't fuss too much and was quiet as a lamb in the carrier there and back. My husband seems to think that he needed a bath and then he would have won. See he was responsible for the bath and teeth maintenance as showing was his idea, but he left it too late so we had to make do with a good brush and some cat grass for breathe! I'm not sure if that would make a difference or not. I think if I saw Barney not suffering and panting so much i might be more inclined to try it again.

I was so worried my husband was going to drive out and try to pick me up from the bus and end up with a damaged car, just like your folks. I had called him about 5 minutes before the storm and hail hit so he knew I was close to home, but when it was all happening I couldn't get through to his mobile. The storm must have wreaked havoc with the phone communication. He did end up coming out to look for me, but only after the large hail died down thankfully! So many cars on the side of the road with hail damage! We are so lucky. No power out, no hail or water damage and the worst I got was drenched. I can deal with that. They are forecasting more severe thunderstorms tonight, but all is quiet out there for now.

Kathryn - I'm sorry you didn't have a good time Does sound like your husband is interested though.
But at least you both have a good feel for it and can go from there for next time, if there is a next time.

Well you certainly had the full experience Kathryn It really sounds like Barney was a hit and maybe by the time you are ready to try another show his colours will have darkened and he will have filled out a bit. Whatever the judges say Barney is definitely a winner here on the forum no matter how many shows he does or doesn't go to
