Hi Candice. Welcome to the forum. You've certainly come to the right place. Louie sounds like a fabulous kitty and we are so happy to have you here.
Don't you love the way Louie follows & wants to be with you? I enjoy that more than anything about my boys. Most cats I've known were more independant. My Bubba is very vocal and will meow loudy to get my attention or when he is looking for me. He is a big jumper, in fact the day we got him home at 11 weeks, he jumped up on our kitchen counter. With him I've found it hard to keep any place off limits, however for the most part he minds me and has been really teachable. Our 1 1/2 year old, Menou is different in every way. We don't know what his breed is except that he has many ragdoll traits. He flops like a ragdoll, which Bubba, the registered raggie does not. Menou does not meow, he talks in a little chirpy voice. Also, Menou does not behave at all, and even does things like slap items off tables and scratch furniture to get our attention. Bubba is very brave and Menou is afraid of his own shadow. Go figure.
I read that you should not put your hand in his face, or use his name when scolding him. You don't want him to think you are mad when you say his name.
I've made this too long. Hope you love it here and give lots of pics of Louie!

Yes.
You can say whatever you think communicates what you want to say. ; ) Some prefer Ragdoll Wannabe or Ragdoll Type.
It certainly matters here more than most places because folks come here learning about the breed in order to get cats in the future. They need to identify cats and understand what it takes to get a "real" Ragdoll or what is likely to give them a cat with no Ragdoll anyplace in her ancestry. They want to avoid paying $400 for a $100 moggie or supporting some "breeding" program they should not because two cats of unknown compatibility have just been tossed together to produce a litter "for the children." Those who have wonderful cats and not planning another are not focused on those issues because they already have a cat that is working out wonderfully for them - or not.
There certainly are moggies with, one, more or many of the Ragdoll characteristics. We know this for sure, because it was a litter of random bred moggies in which Ann first noticed the Ragdoll characteristics.

Katleen you did not make it too long I loved reading it and my louie does all of that lol. I didnt know about the not using his name when scolding him Im glad I dont I only use his name when I call to him or when he meows to me while he rubs against my leg and Im talking to him he goes out of his way to get right infront of me while Im walking and everytime he nudges my hand just as Im putting his water dish down lol. Thank you for your post I would love to read more.
Since louie is only half raggie I would love to learn all I can about full raggies so that I may in the future be able to get a full raggie and be able to know the difference. You were right Jan he is half Siamese which I hadnt realized until you had brought to my attention and I had gotten intouch with the previous owner Im happy now that she didnt pay all that money for "papers" some people are just not as honest as they should be.
Sincerely
Candice & Louie
