Leo (9months) eating and using litter box fine, acting fine as well.
My concern is his sneezing...since yesterday he started and has continued today. I'm not talking 24 hrs sneezing but more than just here and there. Does this sound like a vet visit is next?
Thanks for your input.
I actually joined the forum because I had a question (how to acclimate my kitten to my big ol'dog), so don't feel bad about posting questions! There are always people here to help. I'm sure there will be plenty of people that will respond with good advice. I think if its occasional it shouldn't be a problem, but maybe it would reassure you to take him to the vet in case he has a respiratory infection.
I just went through that with Samantha. For about three days she was sneezing -- not continuously, but way more than usual to the point it began to bother me (let alone her!). Off to the vet. Lungs clear, nose and eyes clear. He thought it was an inflamation in her nasal cavity and gave her a steroid shot and they stopped.

Also, sneezing can be caused by an abcessed tooth or other dental problem, so truly it's worth a trip to the vet.
Hi Laura! Unfortunately I'm no vet, i guess you can keep an eye on him, see if his behaviour/patterns change and if Chloe starts sneezing too. It could be some kind of irritant, have you changed anything in the house? Cleaning products, laundry detergent? If you're worried then it might be worth a trip to the vet.
Probably not an emergency, but if it continues without explanation I would have a vet check him. Were he a human child, he might have stuck a penny in his nose. ; )
Penny, funny
This week is a tough one, same week we lost Lola last year and my 12 year boxer is having the runs-so I been on stain removal mode and that could contribute to Leo's sneezing...although I've been keeping him clear from the cleaning area. But, yes if it continues...a vet visit.
Thanks for the input.
Is he eating/drinking/peeing/pooing fine? Monitor him for another day or two... If the sneezing continues, then I would suggest to you to bring Leo to see a vet..
My 2 boys sneeze occasionally, if in doubt, visit the vet Smile
Have you introduced any new things into the house. Maybe something you put on the carpet or a new laundry detergent? Barney sneezed a fair bit when he first arrived but he also had runny eyes, so when we went to the vet they put him on some medication. It helped clear it up. The breeder intially thought that it might just be an adjustment to the new smells and other cats in the house, as well as his recent vaccination, so we gave it a bit of time and then when to the vet when we were concerned it was a bit too long to keep going on.
I am not a vet but I would make sure that there is no nasal discharge or watery eyes with the sneezing. An occasional sneeze is usually a reaction to dust, litter, strange smell, etc. and not a major cause of concern. Just monitor it and his behavior as well.
