My concern is his sneezing...since yesterday he started and has continued today. I'm not talking 24 hrs sneezing but more than just here and there. Does this sound like a vet visit is next?
Thanks for your input.
Hi Laura, I'm Vicki. I was searching for threads about "runny eyes" in cats. We have had Bella for just over a week, and though we had a check-up at the vet last week, now her eyes have started running badly, and she started sneezing last night, and coughed a few times too. I am taking her to the vet today at 3, and hope to find it's nothing serious. I was wondering how your furry baby is doing?

If the discharge is clear, then it is likely a viral upper respiratory infection. A cloudy discharge is more indicative of a bacterial URI. The latter will be fought off with the help of meds and meds, if given, for a viral infection will be more focused on avoiding a secondary bacterial infection that can complicate things. Viral infections are fought off with the help of the 3/1 or 4/1 shots. In both cases, with a vet visit and support as needed, you can expect a pretty quick recovery like people with colds and flu. Sometimes they can recur. You are right to have a quick vet check, but there is no reason to be seriously worried.
