Since Lindsey asked, here's an update on the KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) cats, so called because they are fed by my husband behind the Kentucky Fried Chicken in town.

I went with him yesterday and today on one of his food runs (he feeds them twice a day) and got these shots yesterday.

The Mom:

The Son (I know he's the son now because I can tell when he turns his rear towards me)

We've tried a couple of time to trap them for neutering, but neither time has been successful. We've invested in an even larger live trap now that is too big even for my husband's trunk (and he drives a big car) so he now has to use the attached trailer to haul it there to try. We're kind of holding off now until the weather gets a little nicer because we don't want to release them having had surgery into cold weather. Hopefully we'll get them soon - the mom is the top priority as she can get pregnant again!

My husband still isn't sure how he's going to get himself out of this. The cats still won't let you get close. He's driving round trip 4 miles, two times a day to feed them, and has been since this past May.
You and your husband are such sweet people.

It's a shame that they are so feral and that you can't take them to a shelter so someone can adopt them.
Thanks for the update T! They are both sooo cute. It's too bad that they won't let you near. What a nice man your hubby is!
They are beautiful T! Your hubby is an angel, not too many men would be so devoted, you are two peas in a pod Smile. I hope that you can get them in for speutering soon!!
I always feel so bad for kitties that don't have a family to care for and to love them. Thank goodness for people like you and your husband. I hope you can catch them so they can be adopted.
I doubt they'll ever be adopted Pepper, they are just too feral. Best case scenario is to get them neutered and release them back. I think my husband will just continue feeding them until something happens and they quit coming to eat.
Bless you T and your husband, for caring when so many don't. I hope what ever future these kitties have, it is a good one.
I can't believe Jerry has kept this up for so long Teresa. Do you think when he first fed them he thought it would be a long term commitment. I'm so glad he has kept it up, they look like they are in such good condition, they really are a credit to him. Good luck with trapping them, I'm sure it will be a relief to you both when they are finally fixed and the worry of mum having more kittens is gone.
No, Jerry had no idea it would be this long and now he wonders how he'll get himself out of it. He says it's like having a "bad girlfriend"
I'm glad for his sake that it's not an illicit girlfriend Smile
