Are you guys evacuating for the tsunami?
I imagine Jenny is for sure.

My granddaughter is in Hawaii and was awakened this morning to sirens. She has been taken to the airport, but will not be allowed to fly out until 10 pm.
Katleen, how scary for your granddaughter. Glad she is in a safe place, hope she gets out tonight w/out too much trouble!
The warnings are gradually getting worse for NZ (nothing very serious but still worrisome). How's everyone in Australia? I'm very worried for Hawaii

Katleen - let us know what you hear from your granddaughter - praying for safe travel for her.
Maybe things have calmed down now and she can get out earlier. Otherwise, she's still sitting there, waiting and no doubt worn to a frazzle. Be sure to let us know how she's doing.

Her name is Dallas and she is in Dallas now. That should be the last lay over before she gets home to Missouri. They've been in airports since they woke up yesterday. I'll bet they are dead on their feet.
My uncle/aunt/cousins are in Hilo (on the Big Island), which seems to get the brunt of most Hawaii-bound tsunamis, and they only had 4-5 foot surges. I heard that some of the other islands got slightly higher surges, but nothing that caused any damage to life or even to property.
I know we were all glued to CNN and the whole thing just sort of fizzled out. I so thankful it did!
