Monkey is 7 months and weighed 13.2 pounds on Saturday when he was at the vet
He's just a big boy, but I think it has to to with the breed.
My Sky has a very obvious BIG pouch since he was 4 mths old... Evo has a slightly smaller pouch... Sky is already going to hit the 9lbs mark at only 5.5 mths!! I better dun bring him to the vet, else I am afraid the vet will faint when she sees his size...
I guess I shouldn't worry then after hearing everyone's input. Perhaps by Raggie standards, he may be a lightweight, lol. My boyfriend loves to tease him about his weight.. in a loving way of course!
T, I love the "big boned" statement from the vet. Wilson, yes your vet may pass out!
As long as Mocha isn't asking "Do I look fat in this collar?" he's probably not traumatized by your boyfriend's remarks.
But you might want to have a talk with the BF before it gets to be a problem.
Kitty, is that a up dated pic if it is I don't think he look overweight at all.
Leyla and Cello both have fat pouch too all tho Leyla's pouch is a little bigger than Cello.

Linda, I just took the pic a few days ago. When he is standing, I can feel a fat bulge between the end of his ribs, and his hip. The area Jan had mentioned. Not sure how normal this is.
Anyone who has been speutered is pretty likely to have a pouch. Whole cats are usually fat when they have one.

Both my boys have huge fat pouches and Albus' fur doesn't cover it up but hangs low with it. Then again it's summer here...
Ahhh summer.....You lucky people. I can't wait for the warm/hot hot weather. (The double "hot" wasn't a misprint lol)....NJ USA just had another snow storm.
