Sonny has arrived home, great news.

We got him home and put him up in the safe room (our room), he has litter, toys, food, water etc there.

However he has been under our bed for the past 3 hours, i guess this is pretty normal, just slighty concerned.

Pics to follow
Yippie Sonny is home. Yes all normal. Cannot wait to see the pics
Yes, that sounds about like what they do being uprooted to a new place by themselves. Just spend lots of time in the room talking quietly (JanH even suggests reading a book outloud if nothing else) and try to engage with an interactive toy (da bird, or a wand toy). I'm sure he'll be fine. I look forward to the pics when he gets more at ease and is out running around.
Yay he's home! Can't wait for picturesSmile
What's he doing now? Now?.......now?
A new baby is so exciting....and nerve-wracking.
Keep us posted.

Morning,

Shaka...in response to the NZ question, i visited friends in Queenstown back in 2002, seems long ago now but certainly the nicest place ive managed to get too.

Sonny update:

Sonny is doing pretty well, he came out from under the bed last night for a couple of hours to play, he can get under the bed but hasn’t realised he can also crawl under it to get out, so he cries and i have to lift the mattress for him to jump through the bed slats.

Dimitri (Siberian)is pretty freaked out at the moment, he has only ever known 1 other cat, (his brother Sergei) so it understandably quite daunting for him.

They have met each other 3 times now, all of which have been quite brief.

Dimitri just seems to dig himself into the carpet and goes really rigid and makes this weird noise and odd mouth slurping type noise. Not hissing though. I stroke him and he seems ok, his breathing seems normal. How long does it normally take for them to get used to each other? How long should i keep Sonny solely in our room for?

Just trying to think of other things to say,

Ok, so we woke me up this morning @ 5am and he bolted around the room for a while, had some of his kitten biscuits then was meowing quite a lots and staring at his litter tray. He the proceeded to sit on my lounge pants and have a number 1. I picked him up afterwards and put him in the litter tray, 5 mins later he produced another number 1 followed by a number 2 of biblical proportions, he must of been desperate. :-)

He seems to of take quite a shining to Hannah & i already so that’s good, he purrs the second i touch him and rolls on his back and kicks my hand.

I sound like a maniac here , waffling on and on, so i apologise for that.

Hope you are all well this morning.
