Some of you will know my other half is a radio DJ.
A couple of weeks ago an old friend of his got in touch again through his facebook and they ended up talking on the telephone. My oh mentioned I was breeding Ragdolls to which he replied his producer was 'into' Ragdolls. Anyway the upshot being he wants me to go onto his radio show to talk about Raggies. Ok, I did a bit of DJying myself last year but the guy were talking about is Chris Evans. He is a A list DJ here in the UK. What would I talk about? I'd like to educate people in picking the right breeder and educate them about byb's but right now I am still a bit gob smacked, typical of Rob, he forgot to mention he knew Chris like he forgot to tell ne he knew other A list DJ's until they phone the house -- arghhhhhhhhhh.
What a great opportunity to let people know about the ragdoll breed and why it's important to by from a good breeder and not a BYB. You can also debunk the myths about ragdolls -- yes, they do feel pain, yes, they do shed, no they are not hypoallergenic. You'll do great -- I've heard you DJ and you'll be great!!
This is terrific. You'll be great!!
Cool, let us know how it goes!!
Awesome!!! Smile
thats sounds like so much fun...
Don't spend the time on negatives, like debunking myths most are never exposed to anyway. You want to let people know what the breed is like - not what it is NOT like. It would be like describing the breed as blue eyed by saying that they do not have copper eyes. ; ) Focus on why YOU chose the breed as pets and then chose to breed them and give examples of your experiences with the cats that make them good pets.
Thank you all for your responses. I will give it some thought and get some 'dutch' courage lol will let you know what happens.
A big responsibility, but who better to represent us and make us "appear" normal. Any way you can upload the interview so we could hear it?
