Gabriel was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. The vet prescribed a round of antibiotics and also liquid Benadryl. According to the vet, Gabriel probably developed this as an allergic reaction to the feline bordella (sp?) vaccination. He and Gabby got this vaccination when they were spayed and neutered.

Gabriel weighs 8.2 pounds. The vet explained that he is a good size-not too fat. She could still feel his ribs when examining him.
Well glad to hear that, not that he is sick, but as an infection is something that should go away! With the antibiotics he should be his good old self in no time.
I do hope he gets better soon.
I'm glad you took him in before it got worse, and it sounds like you've got a good vet who can see that every cat shouldn't be considered overweight based on weight only! He sounds like a good sized boy --(do we get more pics now?)
Sounds like everything is going to be ok. I'm so glad.....
Hope Gabriel will recover soon... Arrghhh... All the medicines... How did Gabriel react to the antibiotics and liquid medicine? Hope that he took the medicine well...
Sorry to hear that Gabriel is unwell. Hopefully the antibiotics and Benadryl clear it up quickly. Hopefully he is back to normal soon.
I'm so sorry to hear of Gabriel's URI. I know how miserable it is to have a sick baby. I surely hope he bounces right back and stays well. Shy
Get well soon, Gabriel!! Smile
Just had to share this cute little story! When I am giving Gabriel his antibiotics he struggles a bit, but then takes his medicine from the dropper. He does not whince, gag or hide from me. However, when I give him the Benadry-it is war. When I FINALLY get it in his mouth, he whinces and sputters and hides from me for awhile. However, he has been swallowing both medications. I can tell that he is getting better. However, he is getting the entire round of antibiotics whether he like it or not.Wink
