Babette was spayed on Thursday morning last week and all went really well, she was sent home with 4 stitches. She has been wearing her lampshade collar all the time (although she HATES it). But last night she managed to get it off and by the time I got to her she had 3 of the 4 stitches removed
the incision has completely scabbed over and is not bleeding or weeping, it just looks like a cut that has has scabbed over.
I rang the emergency vet when it happened and they told me its fine once the cut hasn't opened and to just keep the collar on her. This morning I rang the vet that did the surgery and they told me the same and not to worry at all but just to keep a close eye on it and if there is any change at all to bring her straight in.
She sleeps with us at night and during the day she is in a small room in the house with no furniture so she cant be jumping around. I have put the collar back on her and I am popping home from work every 2 hours to check her to make sure she still has it on.
Do you think the advice I have been given is ok? I don't want to have to put her back under anaesthetic unless completely necessary. All advice is really appreciated xxxx
