We are now expecting another 5-10 inches between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. The snow fall on December 19 and this one over the weekend have been epic storms. I am so tired of the snow. My mom has been without electricity since Saturday night. She had to go to a hotel last night.
It is so hard to imagine..as here it is sooooo hot!!! I hope your Mom is okSmile...I hope the snow eazes for you all....frankly I would trade this heat for your snow hehe Smile
That like it did over here a few weeks back! Its snowing today but I hope it doesn't settle, it was a nightmare!
Yeah, I heard about the coming snow on Tuesday/Wednesday. This will be our 4th snow storm in 10 days. When I heard this on the news, it prompted a lot of profanity on my part, which I won't repeat here. We've had something like 54 inches of snow here SO FAR this season (and it's still only early February...) and the average is 14.
But at least my power is back on-- my apartment was getting really cold, but I couldn't go to one of the temporary emergency shelters because (1) they don't accept pets, and (2) I couldn't dig my car out because I don't have a snow shovel. I've spent the last 2 weeks trying to find one and all of the stores are sold out, and sell out within minutes of getting a shipment in-- everyone has been scrambling to try to get them because usually you never need one (I've lived here for over 6 years and this is the first winter where I needed one)! I hired someone to dig out my car but he couldn't get here until this morning. So I'm happy to have heat again, and to be able to eat something other than granola bars! (my oven and stove are electric, too, and I didn't want to open my refrigerator because I wanted to keep the the cold air in there for as long as possible)
If they had more jobs for economists there, I'd SO move to Hawaii or Florida or anywhere tropical.
I'm sick of this. There's a *reason* why I didn't apply to any grad schools any farther north than NYC. (I'm in Virginia) Maybe I'll go to Canada, I hear that there's less snow there than here this winter!

This is when I wish my kids were little still I would love a snowman
but would look pretty silly outside making one myselfSad

Hey, live a little! If I had snow, I'd be out there building the biggest Raggie anyone has ever seen!
I can only dream. I can just see the quiet, peace.
Nelson is from NJ and I was fascinated by the story he told of his grandson demanding to get out and play in it, but the front door was blocked and he'd just gotten up and was on his first cup of coffee. So, he bundled the kid up, opened the bedroom window and threw him out. He fell all of 6 inches. I just can't imagine snow so high you can walk out a window.
P.S. Don't annoy Nelson before the 2nd cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee.
