ahhh iv rambled on too long, whose next.
Oh goodie!!! Thanks Danielle, what a great idea! Ty for sharing things about yourselfSmile sorry to hear about your knee reconstruction:/...hope all is well now. Condolences about Dutchess. You sound very artistic, and that is great! Thanks DanielleSmile...indeed who is next!?....come one come all people! hehe
Kim, I think you should post here again too!!

I'm Teresa, 50, from Jacksonville, AL. My first career was as a systems analyst, but I began my second career as a Systems Librarian after completing my Master's at the grand age of 40, and am now Assistant Director of the library and will probably become the Director when my boss retires in December. I am childless by choice, but have been married to a wonderful man for 28 years. I love to scrapbook, and be on the forum.
Great idea Danni,
My real name is Charleen. I have two daughters, two g/daughters and a g/son. I share my Townhome with my mother, significant other, 4 cats, a dog and 2 birds. I love to dance, go bowling, play golf, photography and work in my yard. I just returned from my first cruise. We went to the Mexican Riviera. Had the time of my life!!

Hi All,
My name of course as you know is Catherine. I am 68 and a retired bookkeeper. I had five daughters, have 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and another great grandchild on the way. I have 2 boy raggies, 1 seal point, 1 seal lynx mitted. I recently had to put my 17 year old Persian to sleep. Daughter Vicky was my rock and took care of everything. I used to breed Llhasa Apso dogs years ago, and love the breed. However, Vicky recently adopted an adorable Shitzu name Molly and she is as cute as her name. Some day.......hmmmm.....lol...maybe a Molly in my future.
I live alone here in Central New Jersey, and do all my own gardening which I love. (weather permitting) Do NOT like winter. Right now we are having a blizzard!.. I have a fish pond in my back yard, a small one which I dug myself. Really looking forward to the Spring and mostly love summer.
Catherine
Next....
Jane - soon to be 50, youngest of 3 but now an only child. I have 3 beautiful daughters aged 28, 26 and 23 who I brought up as a single parent after my husband left us when the youngest was 2. I am now married to Stan who is as mad about the cats as I am but who has managed to forget our wedding anniversary 4 years out of 6!!! I have done various different jobs throughout my life, barmaid, telephonist, training officer, archivist, admin assistant, fruit and veg seller, childminder, to name but a few. I took a degree in History as a single parent (and passed) but haven't worked for 3 years due to spondylitis, sclerosis of the spine and arthritis. Apart from breeding my beloved ragdolls I spend my time knitting, completing Sudoku's and reading. My daughters can't work out how I suddenly have the courage to travel on my own, driving all over this country to meet ragdoll people and soon flying to America alone to visit friends I have met through the internet!! It really is a massive advance for me as there was a time, not too long ago, where I never went out and had just 2 friends.

Oh, I'm quite a negative person with a very sarcastic way about me - people often say they can't decide when I'm being serious and I am frequently accused of being a snob and stand-offish.
Liz - "musician"... must be the word they'd use in the obituary!! And sorry (for you, not me... Big Grin) it's a huge love of classical music. In recent times, developed to include playing the harp, as well as piano, violin and viola. And, as every classical musician knows, you ain't the part till you have the cats......... the Raggies love the lifestyle, lounging on the fleece on top of the grand (loved by everyone apart from Marietta, the 6:30pm Thursday pupil who shrieks if Socks dares to lift his head....) oh, and there's a Miniature Schnauzer (canine) who loves the attention from all the pupils, manages to get cuddles from most of them as he passes through for his evening walk! The tortoise (Flo) continues to hibernate during this cold winter.

Derek, my hubby, currently going through a few of life's challenges re health problems, which limits his passion for cycling.

We're looking forward to some SUNNY days Rolleyes so we can enjoy long doggy walks by the sea.
My name is Cloe, I don't have a middle name although I often get called by my last name as people don't realise it isn't my first name!! I am 14 years old and I'm in grade nine at school. I live with my Dad and my brother stays over Friday and Saturday nights every second weekend. My Mum is engaged to a man who shares first names with my Dad so it is all very confusing when they are talking about one of them! My brother is 9 years old, I also have two step siblings. Jordan, who is 12, and Tayla, who is 8. My Mum is going through IVF at the moment so I will probably have another sibling soon. My parents were 19 and 21 when I was born. When I was almost 2, I was in their wedding. They got divorced when I was 7. I don't like sport because I am pretty uncoordinated but I do a lot of music. I play the flute, saxophone and piano but my main 'instrument' is vocals. When I was 12, I sang at the biggest theatre in my state which seats close to 2000 people. That was pretty cool!! LOL. Jake and Jaz are my only pets. I like to read and go camping (which no one EVER believes because they don't understand how I can live without my hair straightener and internet hehe). My Dad is an arborist so he camps around Australia looking for new species of Eucalypts so I have been to loads of places (like Ayres Rock, Kings Canyon, Nullabor Plain, Shark Bay and many other middle-of-nowhere places in Australia lol). I am really close to my Grandma and I often stay with her when my Poppy and Dad go on fieldtrips. They live in a huge $1.2M house across the road from the beach which is really cool but they have no pets. My Grandma loves Jake & Jaz though! I am the eldest of her 7 grandchildren, and we all have cats (5 cats all together. Marilyn, Stacey, Jake, Jasper and Tango). I would like to be a feline veterinarian when I am older, which I think is 8 years of university. And I think this is enough information about me.....
Wow, so interesting to hear about everyone. Smile Im Lisa, age 32, married to a wonderful, loving hubby named Bill. We have four children. Will is fixing to turn 9 yrs old on March 28th, Allison is 7, Adam is 5 and Rayna is 20 mths. Yes, two girls and two boys.... perfecto. lol. I am a stay at home Mom, but I have worked in retail and law enforcement. I have an associates degree in Criminal Justice, and maybe one day I will go back into that field... who knows. My hubby is a paramedic and usually works 24 hr shifts, but he picks up as much overtime as possible to allow me to stay at home with the munchkins. I have trust issues , therefore, it is very difficult for me to leave my children with anyone other then family.

Bill is 19 years my senior, and to be honest, I don't think about his age unless in the negative context of hoping he will be around for a long while. My goal is to be able to have our children raised so that we can enjoy grandchildren one day....I just hope we both live long enough to see that happen.

My parents are rather elderly and have many many medical issues. It's very difficult to watch. Sad My sister has never been married and has no children, so she watches over them a lot more then I do. She loves my children dearly, but unfortunately she and I are not close at all.

I have about 90 something odd friends on my facebook page but honestly can only count a handful of close friends. I find it too stressful and time consuming to keep a decent friendship going. Im a rather shy person but once I feel comfortable with someone , I can be quite lively. Smile

My favorite color is purple. Im in "love" with Al Pacino.....and my fave movie is "Scarface".

I love music.....all genres but I mostly listen to classic rock and the older 80's metal bands.

hmmmmmm, lets see..... growing up, I always had cats around, but being very naive and being young, a lot of them were not taken care of the way they should have been.... i.e. inside/outside cats, no vet trips. I feel terrible about it now.

I had one or two cats as an adult but with moving and different things....they moved on...it's sort of hard to explain.

Having two Ragdoll cats have changed the way I am regarding cats... they are kept strictly indoors, I only feed high quality food, keep up to date with vet visits, etc. They are like a part of my family.

I have rambled....sorry.
I'm Alisha. 22 years old, and live with my boyfriend Kevin. We have been together for 7 years, lived together for 3, and bought a townhome style condo together about 20 months ago. We are both "gamers" so to speak. We enjoy playing computer games and playstation games. We also love watching anime. Education wise, I have my AA degree. I would like to go for a bachelors, problem is I cannot decide on a major. I actually went to the University of Washington for a while, but hated the commute into Seattle, large classes, and walking miles between classes. I am not a big town kinda girl Tongue I definitely want to go back to school some day..probably like a technical type of school.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE animals! Kevin isn't crazy about animals, but he doesn't dislike them. I would say I have an obsession and he does not lol! I have always considered myself a dog person though. I have owned fish, rats, ferrets, an amazon parrot, cats and dogs. For a long while I never thought that I would on my own, ever own a cat. All my cats growing up were aloof, crazy, and not very affectionate. We fed them cheap food and let them all outside, but many of them were strays. Still, they were more a nuisance than a pleasure. One reason why I chose the Ragdoll cat breed was to have an easy maintenance "dog" type of pet lol! And I must say, Solo has lived up to that. He follows me around, I teach him tricks, play fetch, and cuddle with him. Then I can leave him home alone and he doesn't have to be crated, and I don't have to take him outside for potty breaks or out for walks for exercise. Solo is the coolest cat I have ever known. Gotta love it!

For almost a year I was a photographer at a portrait studio. That was a neat job and sparked my interest and love for photography.

After that, I worked as a dog trainer for 4 years. I also worked in the grooming salon where I trimmed/dremmeled nails, brushed teeth, bathed, blowdried, and brushed dogs.

Why don't I have a dog? Well I did have two, Zumi, a German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix, and Gary, a Rottweiler. Both of these dogs were mine, I found them and brought them home, raised them, trained them, everything. Zumi stayed with my parents when I first moved into Kevin's place, and Gary stayed with Kevin's parents when we got our own place. I so desperately wanted to keep Zumi when I moved, and also Gary when I moved again... Zumi was not allowed to leave as my parents loved her too much and refused, and Gary could not come with me because of severe bone malformations that required expensive surgeries, otherwise he was to be put to sleep. In the end Kevin's parents kept him. I still plan on trying for another dog in the future, just now doesn't seem to be the time.

Currently I work at a Comcast call center and listen to people complain about stuff not working, then I fix it for them. Not as fun as dog training, but it pays the bills much better.

I love photography and graphics design. I used to want to be a veterinarian. After apprenticing at a clinic I decided I did not want to be a vet. Way too many old and sick pets, blood, and heart ache. I couldn't handle it. then I wanted to be an animator, then a graphics designer. I really still have no clue what I want to be when I "grow up". I used to also think about opening up a dog training business....but who knows!
