Good Morning!

If this questions has been asked in the past, I apologize for the double posting.

Charlee's nose is black and when she puts her nose on my face, it's very rough and dry. Is that normal? I thought noses were to be moist.

Greatly appeciate your thoughts/advice.

Thanks!
Is it always like that? because when cats first wake up, their noses are dry--kind of like our mouth is dry when we first wake up, but as they start to move around it gets wet again. is it dry 100% of the time? If so, I would take her to the vet b/c it could be a sign of fever or illness.
As far as I can tell, yes it is always dry. Thanks so much for your advice, I will contact our vet.

Ok, so I found this interesting, as I have no idea (sitting here at work) if my cats' noses are usually wet or dry. So of course being a good librarian, I googled it (please don't tell anyone that librarians use google too!). Here's a really good article (at least I think it is) that I found:

Thanks Teresa.

Good article. We can never know enough about our fur-babies.
Great article! Thanks so much!!
Yes thank you! Very interesting, the internet is great---it can save a trip to the vet! I almost wish Kota had 'naturally warm nose' as the cold slimy wetness of his little nose is often unpleasent first thing in the morning...
Its such a coincidence that you mentioned this. Last night when we went to bed a cat jumped on the bed and my husband gave it a pat and said that it was Ava because she always has a wet little nose and the boys don't! I thought it was a funny thing to distinguish them by. Usually if it is a heavy landing it is the older two and a light thump means Barney! All seem healthy and happy regardless of nose status Big Grin
Great Teresa!, thanks for putting that link thereSmile
