I love the sookie books aswell. so addictive!!
I really enjoyed watching true blood too, but i wasnt as hooked on season 2 of it as it was very different to the book. The whole maryanne this just dragged on for way too long.

i might have to try these anita blake books while im waiting for the next sookie book to come out Smile
I'm a big TB fan, too. I listened to the books on CD at work and I agree that the maenad thing went on too long. I started feeling like they were doing anything they could to stretch it to the end of the season.
Did anyone happen to catch the Graham Norton show the night Anna Paquin was on? I tuned in when I saw her name on the guest list because I wanted to see who she really was. She looks just like Sookie, but I had no idea she spoke the Queen's English. Didn't know where she was from. Anyway, they did a live feel from AU (that's Australia, Teresa; not Auburn University) Smile and a band had written an Anna Paquin song. They sang about the weird faces she makes onscreen. I was blown away. I saw those faces! One night, right in the middle of a show, the dogs yelled that it was time to come in and I paused the show while my husband, Nelson, went down to see to them. While he was gone, I was playing with the remote, clicking one frame at a time and she was making all these faces I hadn't noticed in real time. Has anyone else seen her grimaces?

I didnt notice the weird looks she did until my sister told me how annoying she thought they were. Now i notice them and it annoys me too!
I still love it though and i'm looking forward to the 3rd season. Club Dead was one of my favourites.
I LOVE both the books and the tv show, totally hooked. I'm waiting anxiously for the new season and the new book to come out. Absolutely agree that I hope the show follows the books more in the future, though I really love them both for different reasons.

As for the Anita Blake series, I started two weeks ago, I think, and I'm on number 9! By the way, Kathryn, I think you've missed some because there are 17 books out so far! It took me a bit to settle into the first book because it was different from others I'd read. There isn't a lot of romance for the first couple books, so be prepared for that. The romance definitely starts as the series progresses! I've really enjoyed all the books, similar to the Sookie stories. If you're into the supernatural like I am, you'll enjoy these too I think.
You are so right Jenny! I just looked at the list and I have read them all but somehow I have forgotten how many! I just seemed to fly through them all. The next one comes out tomorrow and I only found out about it on the weekend. I am so excited!
Anna Paquin won an academy award for her part in "The Piano" when she was 11 years old.
She's from New Zealand I think. It was an amazing performance I thought.
I just watched the complete first season of True Blood on dvd. Some of it was pretty funny, like when Sookie's brother says "My own sister is a *#%@* Fang Banger!"
Jason always makes me laugh on the tv show! The books are more serious, but I think the show is kind of cheesy and in truth that's why I enjoy it so much!
