Hello my name is Barbara and I have 4 cats only one is a ragdoll. Her name is julia and she is 19 lbs. We had to shave her because she hates to be brushed.
Welcome.
Typically the Ragdoll coat should not need brushing. We have Ragdolls who have pretty much never been brushed, and certainly not on any schedule. That is the Ragdoll coat one wants.
When this happens, consider that the cat is picking up shed fur from the furniture, cat beds, etc. They will move around and sort of knit that fur back into their coat sometimes. A slicker brush (terrible as a grooming tool) is great at getting shed fur out of the carpet of cat furniture. So, you may just need to groom the furniture and not the cat.
Welcome Barbara! Glad you are here. We love all cats, Raggies or not, and we'd all love to see pictures.
Hi Barbara and welcome to you and all your furries!
Hello and welcome to the forum. I have a cat I shave as well, she's not a ragdoll but she mats so badly. Hope to see pictures of your ragdoll soon.
