I'll be sure to post plenty of pictures for everyone, since it's the least I can do.

Another question came up: Will I need to use flea prevention if I have a strictly indoor cat?

I never have used it on my indoor cats only but many think you should. I have had indoor cats for 20 years or more. Smile
Hey welcome to the forum!

Your kitty is really cute so I hope you'll get to enjoy her instead of stressing out over things Smile

None of my cats ever deal well with travelling. I guess it's just not a cat thing so they would moan and moan the whole way, whether it's only 15 min or 1 hr. I'd just ignore them most of the time as paying attention to their every meow would only encourage them to become noisier. I do talk to them every now and then to try to calm them. And a blanket or something from the breeder with familiar scent should definitely help. If your kitty gets too stressed or noisy, you can always make a quick stop and let it out of the car (but still in its carrier cage) for some fresh air.

I use flea control on all our cats (indoor or outdoor). I use Revolution which treats both fleas and round worms. For kittens I'd treat them once a month. You're supposed to do the same for cats but I just treat mine every 1.5 months since they don't go outside much. Treating them is really just a "just in case".
I tend to flea my indoor kitties regularly. I check, and if they are clean I don't flea them. If I suspect a flea at all...I am squeezing that stuff onto their necks quicker than you can say flea!..but I think for the most part I would just check, and if you don't see flea dirt or fleas then all good, or you can flea regularlySmile it is up to the individual and the personal circumstances I feel Smile
Our cats or I should say the Raggie's love to travel. We had a 5 hr trip and not a sound and we stopped along the way so I could play.

Ours do not use a flea collar but we do use something from the vets. Can't remember now for nothing, a senior moment because of friends coming over who do have cats/dogs that may have it and so far we are lucky. I would rather be extra cautious then to deal with fleas.

You will know what you want to do. Will be watching for pictures.
Another few more days to go... I am sure you are getting more n more excited now... Hahaha... When I got my Sky/Evo, I couldn't sleep well during the few nites before they arrived home with me... Smile It is great that you have all the safety precautions done.. Once your house is kitty proof, you will be able to relax more and enjoy your new Ragdoll kitten... Have you confirm her name yet? Smile Looking forward to pics.. Yeah!
Unfortunately, I haven't confirmed a name yet. But that'll be in a few days!

I just got a call from the breeder, telling me that my kitty is a half pound overweight (which I suppose is a lot for kittens? But they grow up fast, so I can't be sure), and that she's very sneaky when it comes to food. She acts adorable so that the other cats let her eat more.

When I heard that second part, I just knew she was my kitty.

It depends on where you live. For example, in Florida USA, generally yes. In New England, USA with no dogs going in and out, generally no.

I wanted to add that it really depends on the area you live in. Some areas are more infested with fleas than others. I know there was a time I lived in an apartment and we did get fleas a lot. (I forgot about that) But we have been lucky in both of our homes.
