I can only base my opinion on what you've told the forum, and the only thing you had said was that you didn't want to find an owner because you didn't want to give him up. I'm glad, for your sake and your families sake, that he wasn't chipped and you get to keep him.
Posting notices about your lost pet doesn't mean you'll get them back. Everyone in Hawaii knows who Duke the Malamute is and that hasn't helped him get home. I think the microchip is an excellent invention, as is the Home Again network, and I take some comfort in the fact that if Koa or Monkey were lost someone would be able to locate us and get them home.
I am so glad Mocha is healthy and that you have given him a loving home. Couldn't have asked for a better outcome!
I haven't heard of Duke the Malamute? A sad story sounds like. I hope that he gets home.
Yes, we are fortunate that there is a happy ending here.. with the bonus of Mocha being so healthy and young. It's nice when somethings go right, he is a huge comfort to us all.
