Went to my hairdresser yesterday and one of the hairdresser there has a ragdoll that she wanted to give up. She split up with her boyfriend and she had two cats he kept one and she took her tabby that she had for a long time with her. He called her to say he wanted to give up the Gismo. Wanted her to see if I wanted him. I would love to. My husband is saying no. For the reasons I understand but find myself begging for Gismo. Here is his reasons
(1) We have two females, What would it do to add a male to mix
(2)Shylo still wets now and then
(3)Princess and shylo took almost 6 months to bond, and we don`t want to add to princess who is still after two years with us still afraid of other people and hides when someone comes to visit.
So how do I comeback with reasons to add and say it will be ok.
girl raggies are soo tempramental. sienna is frightened of ppl. and not really a cuddly cat which makes me extremely sad. on a whole my boy is much more laid back. they are kinda like human men. they dont care they just go at life their pace lol. i say bring the kitty home then what can he do lol
I did that with the second cat and he wasn`t happy at all, that I did that. So if I did it again it would be me needing rehoming and not just a ragdoll.
well then u could have as many as u wanted lol
That's the problem with raggies...they're addictive and you just want more and more. I understand where your husband is coming from though. I would love to have another raggie but can't because I just know that Samantha would hate it. Because all three cats would be older, you would really have to have slow introductions and be prepared to do it over weeks if not months. Last thing you want is Shylo becoming stressed and begin to eliminate inappropriately all the time again!
Oh, I wish that I had the perfect words to tell your husband, but I think that I agree with him. I hate to even admit that because I COMPLETELY understand loving these guys to the point of wanting another. But if you already have a kitty that is having accidents, it could get even worse....she will be trying to establish her dominance in her home and what if the new kitty takes on her bad habit of peeing outside the box. That would be a huge concern if I were you.
I truly know the love that we all feel for these guys and how difficult it is to say no. I would just hate for things to become more work for you in the end.

Thank you all for the advice . I have been going round and round with him on this. Begging, pleading my case, crying, my children told me not to do it also. But like Teresa said they are addicting.I kept telling I wanted a white Christmas, the kitten was white, so I guess I will have to settle for the white stuff that is expected Christmas day. I`m having a white Christmas after all.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!
Helen
curse all you people having a white christmas LOL. it will hot and humid as always. even in australia htey portray xmas as being snow which is just soo stupid. but seriously have a beautifull xmas whilst all us enjoy the sweltering heat. LOL
Merry Christmas Helen, and I"m sorry that it won't work out for you, but sometimes things happen for a reason. Give your two an extra cuddle this season and give Snickers some pets from me too.
