Ok, so as I stated in my book recommendations thread, I love to read. I've read all of the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris. Since I've been anxiously awaiting the tenth book, I read another one of her series "The Harper Connelly Mysteries" and I was disappointed with the end of the fourth. Ms. Harris has a forum for all of her novels, and I went on (already a member, due to enjoying reading the forums on Sookie) and posted some of the things I didn't like about it. I've been since blasted by the moderators, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get kicked off the forum. Is negative feedback (said without foul language or rudeness) now considered a "lack of good class, sense, or manners?" I was told that I need to "think before I type." Its an open forum, and I reread the rules after getting blasted, and there's nothing about constructive criticism. Sorry, I'm mostly just venting! I hate when people get all into some sort of righteous fury over their opinion and no one else can express differently.
Based on the way you said you posted, I can't believe they would oust you from the forum. I do believe that foul language and flaming is inappropriate on any forum, but on a literary forum such as the one you describe, you would think they would be open to honest feedback and criticism - it sounds like what you posted should lead to a good discussion. I can't believe you're the only one that had the same thoughts on the book.

Having said that, hmmmmm, wonder what we would say to someone who came on this forum and criticized ragdolls? LOL!

Very simple! We will convince and convert that person into a Ragdoll lover... It is not very difficult to do that... Hahaha.. Smile
Wow some people so easily get their personal opinions mixed into what is right and wrong! They shouldn't be moderators if they're going to ditch a member because they posted an opinion.

Then again if it was a Harry Potter forum...lol
O that's ok Jenny that just gives you more time to hang out with usSmile
Were more fun any howSmile
I believe you did well but some people do not know how to handle someone who thinks different than what they think. I believe we are all or should be able to voice our opinion but not everyone is willing to hear it. Just continue to do what you do and remember hurting people will hurt people. Not meaning you with voicing your thoughts and opinions about a book. Hang tough and know your shoulders are broad enough to let what they say slide off.

If they do throw you off the forum then I would say it is something you do not need but we need you.

Be blessed and know we care.
I agree with you. The newest book left much to be desired. Is he her boyfriend or brother---she needs to get that straight in her mind. His father and brother really gave me the creeps.
I believe you should have the right to voice your opinions, and it should be okay even on Charlaine Harris's sponsored forums, but remember, most of her fans will not tolerate any criticism about her writing. Her popularity is at an all time high, especially with True Blood being aired on HBO. I am sorry the moderators blasted you. IT would seem you're not allowed to have your own opinions if they're bad. If they ban you, maybe it's a forum not worth being a part of. We can dissect her books here in general chat.
I LOVE you guys Big Grin I've been so upset all afternoon due to what happened on that other forum. It just confirms this is my home. Going back to what Teresa said, we do get people, including all of us, who have problems with their raggies from time to time (like my Christmas tree story, and that Monkey loves it to much!) but that's one of the reasons we use the forums...to discuss things we have issues with! I'll definitely be staying away from the Charlaine Harris obsessive fan forum from now on!

And yeah, Judy, major major problems in that last book. I'll send you a pm to discuss because I don't want to give away spoilers if anyone wants to read the series.
hey guys! i have read what i thought was the last book of sookie. (the 9th??) i dont really understand what judy was saying in hey post about it?? is there a new one out already??
This was about another series by Harris, the Harper Connelly Mysteries. The next Sookie book is due out in May I think, I can't wait (even though I'm a bit discouraged now).
