Hello you guys can just call me Lilly
I'm a college student in Louisville, KY. I am about to graduate in March. I've been a cat lover since middle school since my first cat Stormy a simple domestic short hair walked into my life. I also done some research and even though I do like the regular domestic long hair I figured since I don't mind spending extra money on my cats and providing them the care they need I thought a purebreed or even mix would be perfect. I figured I should wait a year or two depending on how much a I make and such. I'm really up for just about any cat since I like Bengals and Ragdolls but I think it has to depend on lifestyle since I know any cat needs attention and ragdolls need company so getting two cats would be fine, even if only one is a ragdoll and the other might be a regular domestic long hair though right now my family has little poodle/dachshund mix. She is good with cats once she gets to know them.
If anyone would like to tell me their experience with Ragdolls, I would love to hear.
Hi Lilly. I would definitely get two if you're not going to be home during the day - in fact I would always get two now even though we *are* home during the day! LOL Sam's pretty dependant on us because he's an 'only child' Ragdoll; much better if he'd had a companion.
Hello Lilly and welcome to the group.
Hi Lilly and welcome to the group. I had one raggie and a friend suggested getting her a playmate since I would be at work during the day. I got another raggie who wasn`t wanted by her last owner, and the two didn`t hit it off for at least 6 months. Since then they tolerate each others space and still not the type where I could get them both in too many pictures together. It`s been done but shear luck. Good to have you here.
Hi Lily, welcome to the forum! You can find alot of great and informative posts here regarding Ragdolls mostly... And you can also go to the Galleries section to see pics of different colours/patterns of Ragdolls that are owned by the members here.. This will give you abit of idea what is your dream Ragdoll going to be...

It is always good to do some research on the breed first before deciding to get one... Good luck!
Welcome, Lilly! My cats are littermates and they get along great. I also really applaud your decision to wait until you finish college and are settled into your post-college life! There are so many transitions and so much upheaval after graduation, and so much uncertaintly in terms of your finances AND your schedule until after you're settled into a job/apartment (or house)/post-college life. Not to mention, there are so many expenses associated with first getting an apartment (and furnishing it) and building a work wardrobe, etc… much more of a financial hit than even I had expected, back when I was going through that transition (and I'm a very "type A" planner when it comes to finances, if the fact that it surprised even me tells you anything) Having a pet is wonderful, but it should be done responsibly (especially since you're taking on another life (or lives) who depends on you completely), and it sounds like you're approaching it in a smart and mature way! Definitely hang around the forum, you'll learn a lot and see a ton of unbelievably cute photos!
Welcome Lilly! It sounds like this is just the place for you. We waited almost a year before getting a second kitten. If we'd known then what we know now, we would have absolutely gotten two. Our first boy, Menou is so much happier now that he has his Bubba to keep him company. I always think two littermates would be perfect, if one could afford them.
HI Lilly, welcome to the forum. Stick around and I'm sure you'll learn lots of good and bad things about owning a ragdoll. Good on you for not rushing into anything, I'm sure your patience will be rewarded.
Welcome! Before I owned a ragdoll I would never have thought that I could love them as much as I do! I am now convinced, as are the rest of the family, that Albus (our 5month old raggie) NEEDS a friend! He will just not do without one! LOL I hope we don't become too addicted, but judging by the way we're heading...
Anyway, this is a great forum and you'll learn heaps and get lots of great advice and make a few friends along the way. I'm Matthew, nice to meet you!
