Gabby has started coughing whenever she drinks water. The cough is kinda a low hacking cough that is non-productive. It only lasts for a few seconds. Then, she is playing or exploring as usual. I just do not want to overlook anything that I should be paying attention to.
Does she do it after she eats too? I have no idea....
She does not cough after she eats. She only eats dry cat food/
Solo was coughing also and his was induced by sneezing usually, vets are very suspicious of asthma. If Gabby is only doing it after drinking, maybe she is drinking too fast and choking a little bit? Does she look like she drinks any faster than her brother?
Winston used to do that sometimes after drinking water. I just kept an eye on it, and eventually it disappeared (it was probably just going down the wrong pipe so he had to cough it up..). Mention it to your vet, just in case, but keep an eye on it to make sure that it doesn't get worse. Also, try a more elevated drinking bowl... now that I think about it, Winston stopped at around the time that I switched them from a bowl on the floor to one that was a little higher off the ground, so maybe his head is in a better position. (this is what I use now: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js...2&lmdn=Dog ) The timing could have been coincidental, but it could be worth a try.
You could call your vet and ask them if you should be concerned. After what happened to Albus I just worry about any coughing. I thought Albus just had a hair ball and I am glad they took him to the vet. Smile
