My Ragdoll boy is 4.5 months old now and is biting boxes and his toys and even my hand - I think he may be teething. Does anyone know the onset of teething and when the full second set of teeth appear? I can remember my white persian going through this around 6 months but 4.5 months seems a bit early.

Anyhow, he seems to have mastered how to use his own toothbrush (see pic).

Could be teething. When teething, the new fangs come in beside the baby ones and will both be there for a while. That is an easy way to confirm teething.
No idea about the teething - but that picture is adorable!
Gosh! That picture is so cute it makes me want to cry.
Dakota is 6 months old (today exactly actually!!) and he is rocking the double top fangs with both his adult and baby teeth still in. his bottom canines eruped around 5 months old. If i remember correctly, kittens teethe from 4-7 months (If I find my reference I'll post that too) so it looks like your boy is right on schedule! I give dakota hollow soda straws to sooth his gums, as suggested by other members on this forum, giant pixi-stick candy straws (empty) work really well (-:

Thanks for this information. Cody is biting into everything and anything at the moment from cardboard boxes to carpet edges and even my hand! I don't mind because he lets go when I let out a screech and I understand what is happening to him but I hope it's not going to become a permanent habit. I will have to play the waiting game and see what happens over the next couple of months. These ragdolls are just like babies - we have to take so much extra care over them.

awww... you just wish there's some gel or something you can put on his gums to help ease the discomfort, don't you. He looks so cute in that pic with the toothbrush. I'm sure the biting will pass once all the teething is finished Smile
I'm sorry I don't know when they start teething but I do your kitten is just adorable. Smile
