Great advice for you to use from the form people here.
The only thing that I would add is what kind of box did the breeder use open one or covered one and if your useing same kind or maybe want to add covered one if you don't have one.I had to add a covered one in my home as Cello liked to watch Leyla when she was new to the family and it was makeing her fell rushed or she would avoid the box if Cello was in room.
I can see T all ready suggested covered box your little fingers go much fast then mine hehehe T

A covered box was going to be my next choice, after the vet today I bought another tray so we now have 3 I also tried some different brands of kitty litter,I had tried different litters before, but this time I bought the clay one, it wasn't long before he was calling me, sitting beside the litters as if to show me how happy he was. He had used the new litters, 1 for a wee other for the poop, he just keeps on melting my heart this little guy, he's known I'm trying to help and he's communicated to me it's worked (hopefully)
I have a couple more weeks before Molly comes to live here, we should be all nice and settled into his new habit by then.
Thank you for all your advice
I'm so glad that you're already showing improvement!! Hang in there, it WILL work out. He sounds like my Simone. Likes to pee in one and poo in the other. You'll definitely need 3 boxes when your next one comes then!
My little Pandora had the same problem. I kept her in the bathroom to inhance the litter box, and with some great advice on this forum i changed litters. I got her Dr Elsey's kitten attract. She loves it! She even plays in it! You can get it at Pet Smart, and i also got Feliway plug in and pluged it in , in the bathroom. She stayed in their about a week, but i still went in and played with her, then i moved her into the bedroom where i sprayed Feliway on the blankets(where she peed on) and when she went on the blanket i used a spray bottle to keep her from going on the places she peed on. It has been two weeks since i changed the litter, and she has freedom now in the rest of the house, but at night i keep her in the bedroom with me, and if i'm not going to be home. She is still little so i'm trying to keep her safe till she is big and use to everything. So don't worry, it just takes time and patience.
So happy things are looking up for you

How are things going with Teddy?
Hi ya,
Aww... you just love your kitty to pieces. I hope the places he sprayed on didn't have carpet??
Luckily we've never had any toileting problems with our cats. They've all been so well toilet trained when we get them from their breeders. When we get them we do try to make sure at the start that they're using their toilet though. I guess if you work out a routine of when Teddy's likely going to go then as soon as you catch the signs, you can put him into his litter box. And if he goes in there, then once he's done you can appraise him to encourage him to repeat the behaviour.
Also is he neutered? I remember our old dog who wasn't neutered use to spray around the house. Typical male territorial behaviour I guess...
I thought we were going well, I had a good few days there with Teddy lying around looking extremely relaxed or bouncing around playing.
I live in Australia and summer has set in, the airconditioners get few breaks through these hottest days. Needless to say the living area is a comfortable temperature, I like to lay a mattress down in the evenings to watch tv and snuggle with Teddy, this usually results in me falling asleep there.
Last night my 2 older sons came to stay so I finished the night in my bedroom. I wake up to a dreadful smell and I know it's not the litter boxes

those plastic mats I used to deter him, he'd moved aside and messed on the floor. (fortunately I have no carpet in the house)
I'm starting to get the feeling that every time theres the slightest change Teddy will react this way. There isn't tension at all in his environment. If stress and change are the problems, I wish the pheromones would be enough to overide it.
I'm picking Mollycoddles up today and I'm filled with excitement and apprehension. In all the weeks I've been trying to help Teddy, I can't find a solution. He is better with a clay litter, thats all I've learned.
