Hi Coral,

I was just wandering how you are doing and how Teddy is doing as well?

Hi Deb,

Thank you for your post, that was really sweet of you. (I was away with work for a few days so I just saw it today.)

Teddy is doing okay. He's settling into his new home and he should be just about finished a course of antibiotics for his gums. Next will be a focus on his eating. He likes to be with the older, more relaxed girl Raggies, as well as one of the older male Raggies. They're all very laid back and don't mind their new friend. Teddy is a really nervous/sensitive boy, so those are the best companions for him. Teddy's brother is a cute little guy, but he can be a bit of a troublemaker (typical teenager) with the older cats, so he's not spending a lot of time with him right now.

I'm still adjusting to life without Teddy. It's a lot harder than I could have imagined. I find it hard to come home after work, and have many moments of wanting to go get him. It's a good thing it's a bit of a drive! Even though I know he's getting the best care possible, I feel very guilty about not being able to give him the attention he needs. My head knows he's in the best place - I truly couldn't have given him the care he's getting now. My heart is a lot slower to get there though. I miss him very much. This will sound strange, but I actually hope he's forgotten all about me and not missing it here. That would kill me.

I'm very happy to report that I had some great news in my email this morning - I received photos of Teddy and an update, and he's doing really well! He looks great, is very comfortable in his surroundings and getting on well with his new pals, and his big long tail is straight up in the pics.

So, that is the best news of all - Teddy has moved on and is doing well. An early Christmas present for sure.

Awww, I can only imagine how hard it is for you. I do think that you are doing the best thing for him as well. Maybe someday when your heart heals a little bit you can look for another Ragdoll. I'm sorry and I'm thinking of you.

So glad Teddy is doing well, Coral, that must be of some comfort but understandably you will feel miserable that he is not with you. Am looking forward to seeing those photos you mentioned. It is great that your Breeder friend is keeping you updated so you don't have to worry about him. Some times our hearts and our heads are totally out of step with each other aren't they!
