Just wondered if anyone has a easy way to give liquid meds to cats. He sees us and runs and here goes two wild people after him. Poor James chest looks like someone got him good. He was funny last night as he had his shirt on and another shirt and put his coat on over that. Yes we do wrap him in a blanket and I come from behind and get in it and down. He is getting wise and knows what I am doing. We have to give this to him 2x a day but we are doing good to get one. Then we have to go through this in 3 months again.
HELP! my husband would appreciate it.

Today Wylee will barely come out. I might call the vet if I can not figure something out.

Forgot to say Thanks.
Paula, I had much rather give liquid meds than a pill!! I use a syringe with a nib on it (ask your vet for one if you don't have one) and put it in the back corner of the mouth between the teeth and slowly squirt (don't want to check them) - followed with a treat they love. Hope this helps some. Is there any chance you can mix it in with just a spoonful of his favorite food? Will he take it that way? I can do that with Clavamox and the girls seem to like it.
O my Paula,
Your poor husband if you need to give for 2 weeks there won't be anything left of him.
I'm sorry I have no advice as I have never had to give meds to a cat before.
Good luck James!!!!
i'm giving liquid medication to shoko as well...

what i do is to put him in a room where there isn't anywhere to hide and close the door. i then come and sit on him from behind (not really sit sit, but just enough so he can't run away) and then grab his lower jaw and tilt his head back until his mouth slightly opens. i then take the syringe/feeder and stick it in the corner of his mouth and squirt some of the med. you don't want to do all of it at once cuz he might vomit or choke. i also rub his throat to help make him swallow and repeat until all of the medication is gone. i give him a treat afterward for being a good kitty Smile
This video may help.

It is difficult when they want to hide to avoid the meds. Sometimes a treat before and/or after can help. You can also stop free feeding and offer a meal to catch them. (Of course, time the meals and feed enough so that they are hungry at med times but are also getting enough nutrition throughout the day.) For really difficult cases, you may just have to confine to an area where capture is easy, like a bathroom.
Thanks everyone. This evening I took some soft food and added it and he ate it all gone and no mishaps. He is still not fond of us right now but he did let me pet him once. I really appreciate all the advice I knew if anyone had ideas you all would.
