I hope someone might be able to help. I'm on the search for my first Ragdoll. I've done quite a bit of searching and the Ragdoll seems to fit exactly what I'm looking for in a cat. Lovable, affectionate & lapcat.
Growing up I had a Lynx Point Siamese, so I am partial to those markings. However, I am open to perhaps a Seal-Point. I've been doing daily searches on Craigslist & Petfinder, without any luck thus far.
Ideally, I'd like to adopt/rescue a Ragdoll from a shelter, versus going to breeder. However, for the few months I've been searching, I see this may be unlikely to happen. I've seen a few people mention contacting a breeder to see about perhaps an older cat (former cat used for breeding), instead of a kitten. This might work out well, because I think I'd prefer an adult cat... though ragdoll kittens are absolutely adorable.
I don't think I can convince my wife to spend $600+ on a cat. But I've seen a few older postings in the Rescue section that would have been perfect. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone might know someone that is looking to put up a Ragdoll for adoption. I might even consider two.
By the way, I'm located in Albany, NY. And I'd be willing to travel most of the Northeast if it helps me find a great Ragdoll. Please PM me if you think you can help!
Thanks!
Jake

. I've looked over many of the links above and it looks like I need to contact some breeders. Thanks for all the help. If anyone else has suggestions or knows anyone trying to find a good home for a Ragdoll, let me know. Thanks again!
