My two boys also love dabird....However I also have a toy that they compete for. I bought it at Petsmart....Its a circular frame with a ball in the trach that they bat and chase and has a cardborad scratching thing in the middle which is refillable. They absolutely love it and you can go about your work while they play. Da bird is great for you to interact with them.
And yes a piece of paper wadded up works great too.lol

For my two: 1) TREATS! Tossed anywhere, down the hall, put under the rug, in the bathtub, etc. 2) ball of yarn--they do the rabbit punching thing with this, 3) each other - except Boo can get too rough with Sissy sometimes, he's so much bigger than her, 4) DaBird. The problem is they like YOU to interact with them; they don't really like playing by themselves much. I have wasted so much $$ on toys that require THEM to do the playing and those keep their interest for about 5 minutes tops. They also don't like anything that they actually can't get; for example, mine hate the laser toy--there's no reward at the end.
Mine have a box that is big enough for them to get into. I have cut large and small holes in it
Cello and Leyla love it .
one will get inside and the other on top they enjoy sticking there paws in and out of the holes at each other.
I think this was invented ") by Teresa as she gave me the idea to make my own.
Cello even likes to sleep in it.I've gotten more use out of the box then the the item that I bought.")

I found at petsmart a wire with these little cardboard type of things attached to the end. Solo goes NUTS when he sees this comes out! I have so many videos of him chasing this thing until he pants! But my fav video is the one I got of him trying to keep an eye on it.

That is the cat dancer! It is only $2.75! Good Christmas present!
Sorry, I've got to break the thread to say how incredibly gorgeous Solo is in those videos!! You've got to get some pics and post for us.
Now...back to the thread.
Samantha loves those crinkle balls too, but Simone has no interest in them. Isn't it funny how one cat loves something and the other could care less??
Charlie doesn’t like to play alone, he prefers to play “hide and seek” with me or to run after me and on the contrary. He would like to play with Lucy, but she doesn’t agree

I have bought many toys for Charlie, mouse, balls, but he prefers the laser and the dabird, also paper ball and……. my socks lol Yes he adores to steal my socks and goes around with them in the mouth, proud of his booty.
Lucy sometimes tries to run after the loud ball, I mean, she walks not run
What do the boys like to play with. They play with the star chaser alot and love the laser lights and any kind of a ball. They love the undercover mouse. They love the empty boxes. Zeke loves to play doctor with my granddaughter, he is the patient of course. I trade their toys up every few months so they think they are new. Now they each have a favorite stuffed toy they carry around like a baby. That love this one toy. It is a yellow mouse on wheels and you pull it back and it goes zooming across the floor and they try to get it. They play alot by chasing each other up the cat tree and the other comes and tags them and it starts all over again.
Well I think this was a favorite wasn't it. I guess they are all their favorite since I switch off except for the star chaser.
I too have to think what to get them for Christmas and then a couple months after birthdays.
Gabriel and Gabbie LOVE the laser toy. It is so funny-when I turn it off they still are looking for the light. It is really comical to see them. Gabbie LOVES the tunnel that I bought for them. It is not very long, but has a crinkling sound and a peep hole in the middle.

I KNOW it is such a great price I couldn't pass it up! And it has lasted a long time so far too!
