Today was such a horrible day for my poor Solo...

I had saved a half can wet food in the fridge and fed it to him today, 10 minutes later he threw it up all over the place, 4 different places to be exact. I felt horrible, the food must have been rancid although it didn't smell or look bad. He had eaten this food before with no problems, and has never thrown up anything he has eaten previously.

From vomiting he got messy, I decided to give him a bath. I was so proud that he was very well behaved, obviously he didn't like being wet, but he stayed put and didn't put up a fight or cry about it. He even let me blow dry him.

An hour or so after his bath, I decided to get out some kitty treats so I opened up his treat drawer and he came running, then I realized he was limping very badly on his hind leg. I don't know what happened, but he can't jump on furniture now and he has a very obvious limp when he walks. I can rub his leg, move it around, pull on it, and he doesn't cry or flinch. I checked his paw, it seems fine. I saw him scratch his ear with the bad leg a few minutes ago, but he is still limping on it. I was going to wait another day, if no improvement then vet visit for sure.

Poor baby, first getting sick, then tormented with a bath, and now his leg hurts Sad I wonder if it is broken or not, when I examined his leg I didn't feel any swelling or anything unusual, I was comparing his bad leg to his good leg and they feel the same.
Ohh... That's bad news.. Better bring Solo to the vet asap.. Sad
Quick update; I found Solo on the couch, so that means he went down stairs and jumped up on the couch. Hopefully his leg is feeling a little better. We will see what tomorrow brings..
ok this happened with us with my mums cat murphy.
he was limping so terrible to the point of not being able to jump. and even when u touched his leg he didnt flinch or anything.
we took him to the vet he had a temp they did xrays but nothing was wrong with his leg and the vet said it was a bacterial infection we got some vibravet (antibiotic) and in a few days he was great again.

to me this sounds eactly the same.
How would an infection have caused this? It is just so strange, I don't know how a random infection could have even happened? Sounds like I should definitely get to a vet, if he needs antibiotics its better to start that sooner than later.
we didnt know either.
but thats all it was.
the xray showed absolutely nothing wrong. and murphy responded instantly to the antibiotics.
A vet visit is appropriate because this symptom can be minor or, although not likely with the lack of pain, major.

A fever can cause limping, even a small one of a degree or so. That is the way in which an infection can show with this symptom.
Last night Solo vomited again, so this morning I dropped him off at the vet. They didn't seem to think that vomiting was related to this and he has no fever. They think he has something wrong with his spine or hips....I am so depressed over this. What if he needs surgery?

I am starting to think that he may have jumped down wrong from the new large cat condo I got for him and perhaps hurt himself?

I go pick him up in an hour...hope it is nothing serious.
Oh no, what a worry.. I'm sure he's probably jumped down and hurt his paw.. kittens are good at that and the limp goes on its own, but it certainly best to get it checked out. Hoping to hear good news later. I'm sure any problem with his spine or hips would have been detected at his health checks before you had him xxx
This happend to Dakota about a month ago--I was really worried and I even posted about it. I took him to the vet and they did some x-rays, but could not find anything--they said it was probably a sprain, which is common in kittens when they land on their feet wrong, or get their claw stuck on something. At any rate, the vet, said he had a very slight temp, gave him some painkilllers and he was better litterally by the next day, and was perfectly normal by the next 3 days--I didnt even finsish giving him all the painkillers.
