We had trouble getting the kittens to use a water bowl. They didn't seem to know what it was for, which I suspect is because they were used to wet food from their home. We found that they were interested and curious but most of the water ended up on their paws or whiskers as they tried to decipher what to do with it. We ended up getting them a Drinkwell Pet Fountain, mainly because we were worried about how little water they drank. But it is so heavy that they couldn't possible tip it over, funnily enough they still put their paws in it. Now they drink more than I have ever seen a cat do. Still it isn't a cheap way to go.
I also had to switch to the stainless steel no-tip bowl for Eloise! She has a fascination with water so even with the no-tip bowl she moves the bowl and splashes water all over! I take a shower and there she is, on the side of the tub, head peeking around the shower curtain... I take a bath and there she is, on the side of the tub splashing her paws in the water! She cracks me up!
I read somewhere that loving water is a Ragdoll thing. Anyone else ever hear that?
So far this is the only kind I have found that Cosmo hasn't been able to tip over. We have hardwood floors also so this is a major issue for us. Both Cosmo and Astro seem to love drinking from this one too!

I once new a lady who used what looked like a rat water container with a spout and ball at the end, her small dogs and cats had learned to use it, it was larger in size built on a fancy stand as though it was intended for small dogs and cats. I've always wanted to find one of those.
The Gs have never been able to tip over the Drinkwell Platinum that I have for them. However, they have started tipping over one of the food bowls. Food all over the floor. Since the bowl that is not tipped over is ceramic I am going to try another ceramic bowl.
Try to buy those "super heavy" ceramic bowls.. I bought mine at a local pet shop... Dun think your Gs will be able to tip those over...
