Mocha was a bit stinky just from his time outside as a stray, I was so afraid to bathe him because I didn't want him to get chilled. I figured it might take forever for that coat to dry! I went to Petco and bought their spray on bath.. he hated being sprayed but it dried quickly and now he smells yummy. Not so sure how it would work on a stinky bottom!
Hi folks
Having shown for many years I can honestly say, regular grooming with an un-scented talc will be all that is required, I have only had to bath my stud boys if they have had that stud smell about them.
Stud tail - I swear by 'Goop' it works wonders. But even the talc will deal with that if it isn't a bad case but the goop will deal with it.
If you do need to bath use a top opening wire carrier put the cat in with the top closed use the shower hose to wet the cat turn the shower off while you open the carrier to then shampoo them keeping them in the carrier, close the carrier again to shower them to remove the shampoo
when you have finished then remove the cat and give them a good rub down with a warm towel.
To dry them again put them back in the carrier and position a hair dryer on a low heat a distance away that will gently blow them without upsetting them. You can buy quite pet dryers but they are expensive.
Hope this helps

Oh you can remove the odd bit off poo off the knickerbokers by dusting with talc and allowing it to dry and gently comb out

Wow! The idea of using a wire cage is a great one! I have not bathed my cats as yet, but I thought it might be worth a try. I think a bath every few months would help get rid of loose hair.
Great idea. I will try that when I need to bathe them. So far they only had to have a few when they were tiny due to they had poo in their fur. Thanks again and oh they boys love the dryer.
