Hi My name is Jennifer. Stacey (Husband) and I are the proud new parents of Charlie. Charlie is a seal bicolour.

We picked him up from the breeder two weeks ago and he is 5 months old.

It seems like he was a little skitish at first and continues to just disapear and hide. He actually hides under our nightstand. He continues to eat alot and I am sure that one of these days he will no longer be able to fit under the nightstand.

He doesn't play very hard - Actually he doesn't seem very impressed with any of the toys that we bought for him.

We are just happy that within the last few days he has started to sleep with us at night.

If anyone has any suggestions as to toys or how to make him feel more comfortable in our house. We just want to spoil him. I am sure it takes awhile for all cats to settle in.

I will try to attach some pictures soon.
Hi Jennifer welcome to the forum Smile Sometimes it can take a bit longer for kittens to settle, I notice that Charlie is 5 mths old a wee bit older than kittens are normally rehomed at, this could be why he's taking a bit longer. Sounds like your doing all the right things. What was the breeders home like? where there lots of toys for the cats, it could be he just doesn't know how to play, depends on how well he was socialized, anyway looking forward to the pictures of Charlie x
Offer a smaller space so that he will grow accustomed to it first and then you can expand it based on his comfort level. Your bedroom is a good place for that, since he will be spending the night with you.

Try interactive toys like wands and da bird to bring him out for play. Adjustment times to a new home and family vary and it does not mean much.
Welcome. You will find before long he will be wanting to play more and more. Each one is different when coming home. Zeke did not need alot of adjustment time but Mykah was skittish too and now he is my more aggressive one and wants to play with someone all the time.

Again welcome and good luck.
Hi and welcome to you and Charlie. I'm sure he'll feel more at home soon, and I hope we get to see pics soon!
Welcome to you and to Charlie. In my opinion, the best toy to get him is another ragdoll!! One is never enough, they are addicting. Seriously one of our ragdolls played immediately, but our boy Sebastian Blue, has come around very slowly, feeling his way and being extremely shy. They all adjust at their own rate. Welcome to the forum.
Hi, my husband and I are in a similar situation, as we just bought our Dakota home a few weeks ago. he is 5 months old now. He also did not seem all that impressed with the toys we originally bought for him, but as he has been in our home, I kind of watched the things he liked to play with that were NOT toys, and got similar cat toys (small plastic 'saucers' available at pet specialty stores--instead of bottle caps, chicken flavored cat chew sticks--instead of my purse straps) and also, I have never met a cat that doesnt like da bird, or little furry mousie's (just make sure you pick of the nose and eyes, because Dakota tried to eat them off) Dakota will play with his mousie for hours by himself each day--in fact, I had to get him alot of them becuase he kept loosing them under the couch and the fridge! I hope this helps!
Welcome to the forum, Jennifer.

Both my Raggies failed to take an interest in the round ball toys I'd bought them - then I realised the breeder was giving them rugby (American football?) shaped balls and they really hadn't learned about balls-that-rolled. Sometimes it's as simple as that.
HI Jennifer. Congratulations on your new baby. I can't wait to see a picture of Charlie.
I have to agree with Gussie, another ragdoll would be great. Menou was 11 months old before we got Bubba in July. You should see how he has come to life. They are such good buddies. Menou just has a better quality of life now.

[/i]Welcome to the forum, Jennifer! Looking forward to your postings and pics of Charlie.... Hope that Charlie will get used to his new home quickly and blend in with your family... As for toys, I just bought Panic Undercover Mouse... Heard that this is a very good interactive toy, and cats will play for hours chasing after the " hidden mouse"... Smile
