Hi,
My name is Elise and I live in the Netherlands with my husband and a 14 year old Ragdoll. The family will be expanded in january with two raggies who are born last sunday.
We used to have three rags but two of them died last year due to PKD.
The 14 year old is named Hendrik and he is a seal point. Harrie and Herman died last year, only 7 and 5 years old. (the breeder had a bad reputation but we didn't know this when we bought Harrie and Herman)
The newborns are named Eddie (the male) and Luna (the female). Since they are so very young, their color will be a surprice although the breeder just emailed that she thinks the male will be some sort of blue.
The dad is a giant creme mitted cat and the mother is a blue point mitted. The grandmother is tortie so we really don't know what color/patern the kittens wil be. Exciting!
Hello & Welcome Elise,
I am sorry to hear of your loss of Harrie & Herman, that must have been a very difficult and sad time, losing both of them. On a brighter note, congratulations on Luna & Eddie, how very exciting to be involved with them right from the earliest days, but the downside of course being that you now have to contain your excitement for 3 months!!.......you must be really excited and of course it will be lovely for Hendrik to have company once again.
Your English is excellent, it puts me to shame. I have long since had an affection for Holland and it's people, when I was just 7 or 8 years old, my Brother and I threw a glass(!!) bottle, with a message in it, off of the Isle of Wight (the island off of the South coast of England) and 3 months later it was found by a Dutch Family holidaying on Texel, off of the Dutch coast. I am now in my forties and the friendship between the two families endures, with many meetings etc in between. I love Holland and have always found Dutch people to be be friendly, of gentle nature and to have great humour.......so no pressure on you, of course
I am uncertain, but wonder if you are the first forum member from the Netherlands.....a huge welcome to you; please keep us posted with Luna & Eddie's progress!
Sue

Hello and welcome to the forum. I am sorry about the loss of your two kitties and hope the new kittens will be healthy and live a long life. I can't wait to see photos of your new babies!
Hello Elise and welcome to the forum. I am so sorry about your loss of Harrie and Herman, how devastating that must have been.
Congrats on the new little ones though -- and we'll be here to wait with you for their coming home day.
Linda (jellybean) recently started a thread in General Chat about older raggies, -- I hope you find it and post info about Hendrik there as he sounds like one of our seniors.
Hi Elise,
I'm sorry to hear about Harrie and Herman. Losing two must have been awful.

We have a website about our raggies, it's in Dutch but the pictures in the photoalbums say it all:

I'd invite everyone to write something in the Gastenboek (guestbook in English)

Hello Elise and welcome to the forum from Cape Cod, MA. I am sorry you lost two of your ragdolls so early in their life. That is very painful. I too, am glad you are adopting two new babies! I hope the 3 months flies by.
Sue K- I love your story of the thrown bottle and an enduring friendship. My husband used to travel to Holland frequently for business, and he loves the people and the place.
Elise- I love the photos on your website. Lots of great pics of all your ragdolls.
Welcome Elise, I'll be sure to have a look at your photos.
