I am not certain how many of you are aware that Teresa, has lost a tremendous amount of weight in the last year and is looking absolutely fabulous. Even though I saw her in May and she looked terrific then, I was struck by the change in her again, the day we met her at Heathrow, she looked amazing. Needless to say the conversation soon turned to the method by which she has lost her weight, which appears to centre round limiting her intake of fat. (I won’t at this stage disclose T’s total weight loss, as I am not sure how she will feel about me publicising that).
At the start of the trip, Teresa, clearly not wanting to “blow” her diet, paid careful attention to the fat content on the foods we were buying, I was so impressed by her commitment. Things only started to change, when the subject of that great English past time “Tea Drinking” cropped up………..
T. doesn’t choose to drink hot drinks, but was game enough to say she would drink tea, providing it had enough sugar in it. It was over a period of several days of trial and error, that we established, just how strong T’s “perfect” cup of tea was and indeed how much sugar she needed……………….it was FIVE sugars per cup…………….I can honestly say; I have never met anyone that could stomach tea with 5 sugars………….respect to you T.!!!!!
Pretty soon, after my initial shock, I became used to the 5 sugar routine and made sure to “squirrel” extra sachets of sugar away in my handbag in places they were plentiful, in anticipation of the places where they weren’t……………but even I, could’t have been prepared for the scale of T’s final sugar fling during our last meal on the seafront on Monday; the day before T. left. Once again the picture says all………honestly, she only had a 2 cup, pot of tea and became so desperate that she broke into the coffee supplies of brown sugar on the table………….I understand that the UK has this morning, just declared a national sugar shortage state of emergency and me, well I am just jealous that she still looks in such great shape…………………….
