I am not certain how many of you are aware that Teresa, has lost a tremendous amount of weight in the last year and is looking absolutely fabulous. Even though I saw her in May and she looked terrific then, I was struck by the change in her again, the day we met her at Heathrow, she looked amazing. Needless to say the conversation soon turned to the method by which she has lost her weight, which appears to centre round limiting her intake of fat. (I won’t at this stage disclose T’s total weight loss, as I am not sure how she will feel about me publicising that).

At the start of the trip, Teresa, clearly not wanting to “blow” her diet, paid careful attention to the fat content on the foods we were buying, I was so impressed by her commitment. Things only started to change, when the subject of that great English past time “Tea Drinking” cropped up………..

T. doesn’t choose to drink hot drinks, but was game enough to say she would drink tea, providing it had enough sugar in it. It was over a period of several days of trial and error, that we established, just how strong T’s “perfect” cup of tea was and indeed how much sugar she needed……………….it was FIVE sugars per cup…………….I can honestly say; I have never met anyone that could stomach tea with 5 sugars………….respect to you T.!!!!!

Pretty soon, after my initial shock, I became used to the 5 sugar routine and made sure to “squirrel” extra sachets of sugar away in my handbag in places they were plentiful, in anticipation of the places where they weren’t……………but even I, could’t have been prepared for the scale of T’s final sugar fling during our last meal on the seafront on Monday; the day before T. left. Once again the picture says all………honestly, she only had a 2 cup, pot of tea and became so desperate that she broke into the coffee supplies of brown sugar on the table………….I understand that the UK has this morning, just declared a national sugar shortage state of emergency and me, well I am just jealous that she still looks in such great shape…………………….

Big GrinBig Grin Sue, I can fully believe the amount of sugar T takes in one cup of tea, as she drank her very first cup of tea when I took her and Jane for a cream tea the last time she was over in England. Me and Jane were cringing watching her drink it. Know, I happen to know T has a sweet tooth, but this really is extrordinary!!!!! Cool

I am so jealous looking at all the photo's and wish I could have shared some of the experiences with you. I have just been so busy with things the past few weeks, but I really hope when T makes it to England again, she will be slightly closer to my neck of the woods.
As you said, T looks fantastic and I really can't believe the amount of weight she has lost. Its brilliant. Well Done to you T..
Hope you had a safe trip home xxxx
Whew -- I was scared there for a moment with this post, I was afraid she was actually going to disclose my clotted cream ice cream "problem".......I can live with the sugar one! LOL
I am still fighting our local Co op, for the fact they overcharged me, do you know a whole family sized tub of ice cream appeared on my bill, but I don't appear to have it now....it can't possibly have disappeared that quickly, I must have left it behind at the store Wink
TeresaK Wrote:... clotted cream ice cream ...

Have to ask what the fat content of that is! LOL
LOL!! I didn't even look -- I was too scared!!!!!
Sue - I'm so relieved that I love tea (especially Earl Grey) and drink it black. Oh yes, and love a good beer (or two) and am looking forward to time in the local. I should fit in okay then? Wink
Coral -- if you fit in too well, then you don't get hassled -- and that's half the fun!! LOL
That's true! I'm sure they'll tease me about my accent or the funny way I dress. lol
coral, like us, the english will love you. are you thinking of coming over and see us?
