What a lovely coincidence for you Teresa, shame you didn't have Billy and Tiffy-T with you.

Linda, if you love old chuches you sould come over for a visit, we have hundreds over here!! Big ones, little ones, country ones, city ones, any denomination, I'm sure we could find some for you!!
How brilliant.. it reminds me of an episode of the Vicar of Dibley. My all time favourite comedy.
If you love churches T, then if you ever get to Somerset again, I'll take to to Wells to see the Cathedral.

(I'm with you on that one Clare re the Vicar of Dibley....just the best ever!)

At the risk of offending anyone (I am sorry); fair to say that being in Church on a Saturday afternoon is not a regular occurrence for me, so much so that when I called my Mum and Dad to let them know we would be a little later getting to them than planned, my Mum didn't believe me when I said we will be late, because we are going to church!!

Despite my lack of regular attendance, I was brought up to have complete respect when in church, talk in whisper, dress appropriately etc etc..............in view of this, I struggled for the duration of the service to come to terms with the whole scenario that unfolded before my very eyes...... T and I were dressed in jeans, the hymms were interrupted by barking and the pews were being scrambled over by a number of oversized dogs who clearly had thought they were going to the park when their owners had produced their leads earlier on. Most disconcerting of all for me in this environment was the over stressed, oversized hound in front of me who passed wind every time he was made to move, which just happened to be at the beginning and end of every hymm.

I was though, moved to see the individual blessing of pets outside the church door after the service, especially when a couple produced a couple of ferrets (!!). The magic of the moment was though spoilt for me as I noticed a greyhound toileting on the grass behind the vicar, just as T captured the happy moment on her camera!!!

It was amazing that T and I stumbled across the service, given the very thing that brought us together, but I still cannot quite believe what I witnessed in church on a Saturday afternoon in October!!......maybe I should have taken B & T, but I can only wonder what Billy might have been up to in the second pew from the back of St Mary's whilst the vicar was speaking of the beauty of animals Wink
Jane ,When my hubby was there years ago that was one thing I remember him talking about the most where the churches and the Castles . He told me I would just love it.
Little of subject but,,,,,,,
He was taken back by Germany all so.
The restaurants allowed dogs in them and they had a doggie menu.
I will pack my bags,,, Hehehe!!!
