last update -

First, the Tuna diet is based on the raw food idea.
when the vet suggested a mono supplement diet, the idea was to treat the issue like a food allergy.

and so we did.

For a week he only ate Tuna fish - it caused a big improvement.
during the weekend we started challenging him with Hip-Allergenic food (Royal Canine), based on one source of protein.
(since allergies are usually reactions to the protein source, and most cat foods combine several sources of protein).

during the wknd i spotted normal poo's.

at first i wasn't sure which cat they belonged to - and later i saw it in real time -
The Tuna diet seemed to have worked.

Since at the moment he still eats mostly Tuna, and just a small amount of Hipo-Allerganic cat food, the experiment isn't over.
but as soon as i know more i will post an update.
I am glad things are getting better!

Here is another possible resource for you, just in case you want to try it at some point:

one of my cats, not a ragdoll, had a similar issue....he was diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Nothing we did could help him until we put him on a high protein dry cat food and did not allow him one single ounce of anything that wasn't his cat food. It took some time but he did get better. Now, 3 years later, he still does not get anything but his cat food and I check his stools every week. It is very traumatic to have a cat/kitten with these types of issues...he was so miserable when he went to the bathroom. Sad I hope your kitty is getting better!

Thank you!
actually he is doing much better.
He eats Hipoallerganic cat food - after a cleansing diet (during which he ate nothing but Tuna). and it's solid ever since.
He might be sensitive to one of the protein sources in regular premium cat food, and needs to stay on one source of protein.
i check his litter twice or 3 times a day - you are right in a sense - it is traumatic.
It is good to hear that thing are improving.

Good luck
This sounds exactly like my Meekus' problem! He was also put on 5 days of Panacur and 10 days of metronidazole, to no effect. A follow-up fecal smear (PCR) revealed no parasites, and yet the diarrhea continued. I have since restricted his diet to all Weruva and added a fiber supplement (max of 1/8 a day).

I think I've found at least part of the problem. I tried an elimination diet approach - first with Weruva there's no corn or wheat (just rice sometimes). Then I took out eggs. Still diarrhea. Then I have taken out chicken, because stools seem to be ok after he eats fish. This is still ongoing, so I'll keep you posted! I am really hoping it is a chicken intolerance b/c the next step is endoscopy, which he would really not enjoy Sad
