ok so im starting to suspect Julie has Pkd or similar disease

she always has really runny red eyes, we are wiping them twice a day and its still running down her face.

she is forever sneezing. when she sneezes its about 10-15 times and sounds like she is throwing up

we give her L-Lyasine everyday

last trip to the vets they said she might have a kidney infection

when we got her she was extremely skinny and we only fattened her up on milk.

please give me thoughts or opinions. i think it may b PKD
from what I hear, PKD is extremely rare in ragdolls, except for possibly those with recent Himalayan ancestry. But the breeders on here would know more specifics.
PKD is not likely. Neither a URI nor even kidney infections would be indicative of PKD or some other kidney disease. UTIs are not uncommon and can repeat until the cat really fights it off. However, you can have her kidneys scanned to see if any structural problem is found. A scan is the method of diagnosis for PKD.
Hi Danni,

Has she been tested for feline herpes and the calicivirus? Both can show similar symptoms (re: runny eyes and sneezing), but the calici doesn't respond to L Lysine. I'm not sure about how they test for herpes, but for calici it's a swab under the eyelid (he was under when they did it as he was having dental surgery done). That's how I found out Teddy has calici. Up to that point, I'd been giving him L Lysine, but understand now why it wasn't helping. Since he's had seven teeth extracted, his symptoms are better. He doesn't sneeze as much and his eyes are clear. However, he'll likely need to have all of his remaining molars and premolars removed at some point.
