I decided to give Achilles and Shoko a bath for the first time before it got too cold. I can say, fortunately, it wasn't too terrible of an experience. Tongue

I initially tried washing Achilles in the sink, but he freaked out, poor baby. So then I tried the shower/bathtub and found it was much easier to wash him in there because then I could just shut the glass doors, and he had nowhere to run to. :evil laughter: Shoko was a cinch since he was too scared, so yeah, now they are amazingly clean and smell good Smile

Now for the pics:

Victim #1: Achilles.

The next unsuspecting victim: Shoko "What's going on here??"

Almost dry. Time to go restore my dignity.

Victim #2: Shoko. Let me out of here!!!

Look how pitiful I am.

Achilles: Hm, what is this weird wet-looking rodent over here? (I always thought Shoko was bigger than Achilles, but looking at them here, they look about the same. Weird.)

Achilles: Do I know him?

Achilles: Hm, guess not. Well, time to move onto the next thing on my cat agenda--cat nap! (Lol, he literally fell asleep in the bathroom while I was finishing up drying Shoko)
So funny!! Did you just towel dry them? I've read that we're supposed to blow dry them. How the heck do you do that? My cats run from my blow dryer!
So cute! You're lucky that your shower has a door... my shower/tub just has a shower curtain, and when I bathe my cats I need to use heavy shampoo bottles like paperweights on the shower curtain to keep them from escaping at either end!
As for letting them air dry, that's what I always do. Just make sure that the temperature in the apartment is relatively warm, especially in the winter make sure it's above 70 degrees, minimum. I find that they actually dry pretty quickly during the winter, when the air is so dry.
I found that with my boys, they are much more comfortable if you use a hose/shower thing (forgot what they are called, sorry!) instead of putting them in the water. Your boys look like they didnt mind the bath too much, no death looks like we got when Jake had his first bath. Love the captions by the way.

Lindsey, try playing with your cats while the blow dryer is on in the background, this gets them used to the noise. Also when we blowdry our boys (really helps with fluffing their coats up) we usually need two people to doing the job. One to hold the cat and blowdry and the other person to brush. We brush our boys coats the opposite way to the way they usually go, this makes them more fluffy for the shows and then once dry we brush them the 'right' way Smile
Ohhhh interesting... thanks for the info! I kind of feel like giving Dex a bath right now just to test it out Tongue

But he's being so sweet tonight, I just can't be evil to him right now, haha
Lol - they're like giant drowned rats. Poor things. They look so beautiful after they've had their baths. Smile
Love the pictures-but, I really love the captions!
What a great story line with pics!! Poor guys....they just aren't sure what happened to them are they? I think Shoko looks the most bedraggled after the bath!
