I went to Pier 1 first, but they didn't have anything suitable there (and way too expensive). So I went to HomeSense instead and could have bought the whole shop.
So many nice goodies and all so affordable.
The rooster that lives on top of the fridge was only $14; the spice rack $20 and the pots next to the rack only $4,99 each.

My son was afraid when I first started this project. When I gave the first stroke of white paint, he said he hoped I wasn't making a big mistake.

Now he has to admit my idea was good and we should have done this a long time ago.
I'm quite pleased with the outcome.

See for yourself. I think you'll agree with me ...

Looks great, so bright, cheerful and new!

Is there a special paint you have to use? I once was told you cant paint over wood laminate and only wood. Is that true?
