Thank you Jane and Gail.

I would be more than happy to do yours Jane. Believe me, if I could I would give up my admin job and become a painter and wallpaper full time. Good money in it too.

As for painting over laminate or wood Gail ... I washed all surfaces with hot water and detergent first and used sandpaper to break any kind of gloss.
Then I used two coats of wood primer by Premier paints and three coats of top paint.

If you want to take on a project, it's always a good idea to go and talk to the paint department in your local paint store.

Finding the details for the kitchen was harder.
I dragged my son all over the mall last Saturday and visited no less than six stores. None of them had anything suitable.

Then someone suggested Pier 1. But Pier 1 didn't have anything of interest either. They had very nice things, but not what I was looking for, and everything was rather expensive.

So next I went to HomeSense and .... whow, I could really go bananas in that store. So much to chose from and at such good prices.
I mean really, that rooster that I bought was only $14.

If I ever need something again, I'm going back there.
Hi,

I looked up Homesense and it doesnt seem to be in the USA.
Too bad! Linens and Things might be similar to it. Thanks for the tips.
No, Homesense is Canadian based, but you can still shop on-line.
I mean, I saw a cookie jar in Pier 1 for $49,99. Then I saw a similar cookie jar in Homesense for $22,99.
I'm not a fan of shopping on-line, but occasionally it's a good thing.

Take the kitchen knobs for instance. The cheapest ones I found in the store were $1 each.
Then I looked on-line and found some for 25 cent each. I painted them in the same color as the walls, and voila ...
