Hi! I thought I would post some thoughts in this discussion thread regarding Sassy's travels around the country.

I got her at 9 weeks and started training her with a leash and harness right away. She knows that before we "go bye bye for a walk" she has to get dressed and wear her harness. She is "programmed" to go out at certain times of day, down here in FL its when the cooler part of the day is, in late afternoon.

She's now 4 years old and another favorite hangout of hers is her carrier, which is a Sherpa, airplane approved and insides are washable. She will often sleep in the carrier just "because"... She also finds it comforting and a sense of home and security to hang out there when we are traveling.

I did get some "happy pills" from the vet to give to her in case she gets anxious, which has not happened in some time. Acepromezine is what the vet prescribed and with her weight (8 lb) she gets 1/2 a tablet which lasts and just takes the edge off for several hours. As I said, she hasn't had to get that in several months, but I have them in case we fly anywhere. Flying with Sassy was a totally different story. The sounds and air pressure really bothered her so now if we need to fly somewhere she'll get her little pill before we go.

That's about it for now. I need to post more pictures of her... Will do soon as I can.

That's very interesting Susan. The reason I asked about Sassy's reaction in an earlier post, is because cat's are not usually keen on being moved from place to place , they tend to get stressed when things get changed, even the furniture being moved in the home can upset some cats! Still, you have obviously got Sassy used to it very early on and if she is 4 now, she has obviously adapted very well!

I completely agree. I feel very fortunate to have such an understanding kitty. She really does like her routines, though and I stick with as many of them as possible while we are traveling.
