You're right. Their vet left me a voicemail today; her opinion is it is probably anxiety, but I will be calling her during her scheduled consultation time on Monday to discuss the possibility of trying antibiotics. I found what looked to be a very good enzymatic cleaner today (I had some that i have used before, but I never really liked them). I also added another box on the other end of the house.

Atrus seems to -like- the kitten at least. I can't really tell. They play in the ways other people have described playing (when they want to know if it's play or fighting), but Atrus is so much bigger than Tesla that i am concerned. They chase and stalk each other and when Atrus loses track of where the kitten has gotten to, he waits and meows for him. Tesla is consistently trying to rub up on Atrus and Atrus will tolerate it and lick him, but sometimes he'll start licking him and then it turns to biting. Not really biting, I guess, the kitten doesn't make any sad or hurt sounds and Atrus just looks to be closing his mouth on him rather than biting. Atrus has knocked him down and rolled him over and made him squeak Sad but then they get separated. I don't put them together that much or for too long. I can tell Atrus still needs some peace and quiet and when the kitten is with him he insists on following it around if it leaves the room. And now Tesla is climbing on my keyboard so I better stop typing.
When we brought Bubba home, I was horrified at the way Menou acted. He scared me.
He has always been such a shy pussy cat of a guy. I was afraid if I took the baby into my room and shut Menou out, he'd feel I had replaced him, so I tried to give him more attention than the new kitten. Now I think that kept the baby from bonding with me.

As it stands now, Menou has taken the baby away from me. Bubba just wants to hang out with his big role model brother, and won't let me pick him up. Menou, on the other hand, has become more affectionate than he was before Bubba arrived. Go figure.
Cyrano seemed to like Ebony at first when he arrived than started hating him (I guess jealousy and Ebony a little too wild did that). Diwan hated him at sight but after 5 days they were best pals Smile
For quite a long time (EBony arrived 5 months ago) Cyrano just tolerated Ebony, never wanting him to get close or touch him. I accepted the situation and left them alone. This weekend for the very first time, Cyrano has accepted to be licked by his little brother on Friday and on Sunday he even gave him a good lick himself. That was great progress and one I wasn't really expecting anymore. So I'm a very happy and proud fur-mommy Big Grin
As I wrote in a dedicated thread, we adopted another kitten two weeks ago just in order to let Ciccio have company and to have a pair of same age pets in the future, because we really find it hard to properly feed differently aged cats -- that's what we are experiencing now, sonce Sunny Jade is 9, got an early renal failure and has to be on a specific diet, which drives us crazy when it's cats'mealtime -- keeping the boys separated, shutting doors and so on.

Well, Ciccio welcomed Winnie wonderfully. I used the slow introduction strategy and all, but it really was not necessary, due to the loving temperament of both kittens. They had (and still have!!!) their moments, of course, but now they are best buddies -- eat together, sleep together and play together all the time!!! They do not groom each other yet but I'm confident they will soon!!!
sounds like it is getting better already- When my daughter and her "psychotic" cat moved in with us (and they are still here) Puff Apollo was still a kitten and friendly- Ramsey would hiss, growl and get louder and louder- Puff would just look with wonder- as to why Ramsey was acting that way- Months have passed and they sit together (parallel play since Ramsey does not play) all the time and Ramsey still hisses when she first sees Puff-each day! so this is our adjustment and it works for now.
How are things going with Tesla and Atrus? I came across your post and have been keenly reading it for the happy ending Big Grin
I hope you are over the worst of it by now and that you have two happy cats. It does sound like a bit of a dominance struggle, but most kittens are just too busy playing to take much notice of the pecking order!
