I'm adding Newman's brother to the family next Saturday! !! He's a blue bicolor. They'll be 16 weeks old. It would have been better to get them together, but it didn't work out that way. Hopefully they'll be friends again before long. I have no idea yet what I'll name blue boy. I'm told he's calmer than Newman. I met him once at 8 weeks but didn't pay much attention because I was focused so much on Newman! I'm really excited and hope it goes well. Is it harder on an older kitten to adjust to a new home? (generally)

I just added photos in the gallery:

I'd love some name ideas..I don't even have one possibility I like yet!
Congrats!! I think you'll be amazed at how quickly they adjust to each other. Seems the kittens do really well accepting other kittens - just ask Diane (KewlKat) who has three kittens all weeks apart from different breeders.....
Wow, that's very exciting! At such a young age, I'm sure they'll adjust to one another quickly. It might take a few days - I would follow the slow introduction advice even though they are young. Newman should soon be delighted to have his yet-to-be named brother home with him. Smile
Thanks for the well wishes. I'm so excited! Last night I was looking at Newman thinking "boy do I have a surprise for you!"

I think they should be a good combination. Newman is fearless and full of mischief and his brother is more cautious and snuggly from what I'm told.
Has the breeder sent any pics that you can share with us? And, how's the name selection going??
Follow the usual introduction cycle and expect fireworks. Even if they recognize each other, cats rely on smell and neither will smell as they were remembered. Kittens adjust quickly to each other and things should not take long. Expect Newman to express at least some dominance from his resident status, but the newcomer should not resist it much.

I just added photos in the gallery! The name selection is going horribly. I don't even have a maybe or two on my list...there IS no list. Please take a peek and let me know if anything comes to mind.
How about Woodward? (I was thinking about Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, and although the 2nd kitten is a boy Woodward sounds masculine) Or Jerry? (thinking about Seinfeld)
or Redford? (from Paul Newman and Robert Redford in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid")
My BF suggested Redford as a name and when I first heard it I really liked the cleverness of the pairing (Newman and Redford) but didn't like the way Redford sounded by itself as a name....but now, it's growing on me!

I'm weird like that Wink A month ago I thought I didn't care for the bicolor pattern and would never own a bicolor. Now, I think this new blue boy is adorable.

I like Woodward too! We didn't think of that. I used to live in Westport CT and would see Joanne at the grocery store sometimes. She was always very nice.

Other names on my "maybe" list (just formed today!) are:

Jake
Joey
Gus Gus (not Gus, but "Gus Gus" after the mouse in Cinderella)

I think Redford and Woodward are near the top of my list right now though. THANK YOU!
